Because he can't force people to fight each other. That's illegal, you know that right? Vanes already put it out there for everybody who wanna know how it works. You're presented with a couple of boxers, you choose who you want to fight. Haymon has presented Porter to Thurman. Thurman just don't want it.

I'm a Thurman fan but I gotta admit, for a guy that loves to talk as much as he does he's been quiet as a rat pissin on cotton when it comes to this fight.

yeah but leo and mares are lil dudes they are as big as its gonna get for them.

Thurman is in the weight class where casuals pay attention to so theirs more riding on these fighters then a lower weight class fighter.

I think Thurman may be seen as a bigger investment than Santa Cruz and maybe Haymon knew that Santa Cruz had more of a chance to beat Mares. It's not that Thurman couldn't beat Porter but it's more of a 50/50 fight. Maybe I'm wrong but that's the way I see it.
