Comments Thread For: Porter Prepared To Move On This Week From Thurman

There had been a lot of speculation about a welterweight showdown taking place on December 12th between Keith 'One Time' Thurman and Shawn 'Showtime' Porter. But it appears that fight will not take place - at least on that date.

Kenny Porter, the father/manager of 'Showtime' told BoxingScene.com regarding that match-up - "We never received a contract for it."

How? And then Keith says he's been agreed to and wanting the fight yet it's still his fault to people on here..

Thurman been tight lipped ever since Porter been coming at him full throttle.

I think Porter was smart with putting the pedal to the metal with the demanding the fight etc cause I think they both knew haymon wouldent let it happen but now porter can look like the guy who wanted it and thurman looks like the guy who didnt, cause how can both call each other out and it not happen? that will mean haymon is blocking it. So its either haymon is blocking it or thurman is ducking and since Thurman hasnt said an official word on the matter yet its thurman is ducking.

I'm one of One Time's biggest fans on this site. But I call a spade a spade. Team Porter has been super vocal for upward of a year. I ain't heard a peep from my guy. Last I heard was "we'll fight, but not on the 12th.

Why would Haymon be blocking this fight?

But he didn't block Santa Cruz from Mares? Unless Thurman is fighting Garcia or Khan next is the only reason for a Porter match to not happen.
