    1. Golovkin
    2. Quillin
    3. Lee
    4. Lemieux
    5. N'Dam
    6. Jacobs

I consider Cotto a JMW and Alvarez is still an unofficial MW. A year from now I expect Derevyanchenko to be a top 5 and Korobov and Khytrov to maybe be there. Eubank's also going to get a chance to be a legit top 10 within the year and Stephen Edwards is saying Lara's moving up to 160 after his next fight, to demand a shot at Golovkin.

Only people trying to prove worthless arguments call Canelo a Middleweight. Is he TECHNICALLY a Middleweight? Sure, but he still isn't a REAL Middleweight.

If he gets that strap around him though, he's all game for any Middleweight otherwise drop your belt and pride knowing damn well you aren't the real MW champ
He can't make 154, so he's a middleweight and has been for 3 fights (4 inclu. Cotto). This isn't some idiotic theory -- it's the official sanctioned rules of boxing. Middleweight doesn't mean you weighed 160 lbs. It means you weighed more than 154.

Cotto is a middleweight with 2 catchweight fights, one less than Canelo, and weighing much less than Canelo.
Golovkin is definitely a middleweight despite weighing less than Canelo in the ring.

The 155 thing has been a way to get his stock back up after the Floyd loss instead of going right to MW. If he wasn't so famous he would have been forced to just fight at 160.

What's it gotta do with liking GGG??? They haven't fought and might never. I like both fighters about the same BTW. Both very fun to watch.

You know a division is abysmal when Andy Lee is in the top 3.

              Cotto
              Canelo (155 is still MW)
              Lee
              Quillin

                Pretty sure it's:
                GGG
                Cotto/Canelo
                Lee/Quillin
                Jacobs/Korobov

                      1. Golovkin
                      2. Canelo
                      3. Cotto
                      4. Lemieux
                      5. Lee/quillin/Jacobs: these guys are hard for me to judge because they have some obvious power and skills but I don't think any of these 3 can take a punch..and this is a division where if you want to be the best you better have a chin.

Murray would be top 5 for sure if he didn't move up

                      Geale is washed up

Monroe would give a lot of guys a tough fight and could probably beat a Lee type.

I haven't seen enough of Saunders or Eubank jr to really give a ranking.

Overall it's definitely not one of the best divisions but it has a lot of star power at the top.

The future of the division actually looks very strong. There are some nice middleweight prospects. I think that kid from Ukraine could be a beast and jrock could also be a top middleweight in a few years.
