Comments Thread For: Roman Gonzalez Stamps P4P Status, Stops Viloria

Originally posted by MrP4P View PostI went through Roman's resume and looked through every opponent. This was the only pulse hes fought since Estrada. He wasn't that impressive, hes a transitional "#1 P4P" till GGG gets it. He did good, as expected, key word, he was EXPECTED to. Estrada beat Viloria in better fashion. I truly believe Estrada beats Gonzalez in a rematch. The HBO commentators were hilarious, they would give Roman props for taking punches and discredit or not even mention the work Brian was doing. It was painfully obvious and cringeworthy to watch HBO at work. Roman is a great talent, but he struggled tonight, and hes not what people think he is. He's the Wlad of the lower weight classes.Last edited by daggum; 10-18-2015, 01:53 AM.

Pound for pound theory is bull****. It's just another way to market American fighters in the lower weight divisions because no one in this country is an elite fighter at the heavier weights. At some point, the media in this country is going to say that Andre Ward is the best fighter pound for pound even though Sergei Kovalev fights in the next weight class and can kick his ass.

you're a perfect example of what the guy quoted above you is talking about .
you clearly had no idea who Roman was before late 2014 , still have no idea who the likes of Ioka , Estrada ,ruenreong etc.. are and haven't watched a single fight of these guys .
yet you'll go out on a limb and claim that a division that you never followed , a division not even shown on TV where you live, is " weak " and that any top fighter from it has a padded record built on fighting cab drivers .
seriously , this negative pushback the moment a fighter is getting some hype from the media and some fans is getting annoying .

you can tell Viloria was in great shape for this fight that's the only way he was able to take that beating and still stay on his feet after the first knockdown. Chocolatito throws some of the nicest combos of an fighter I've seen and he's accurate. He was born to box.

I have not seen that kind of balance, and skill since Finito lopez, or Chavez Sr. Viloria is a very good fighter, and will beat most fighters in this weight class. There is no fighter as good as this guy right now.
