PBC would have joined the cooking network had Julius Jackson not gotten ktfo last week.

There's a calender on the pbc site if you get lost trying to keep up with the different dates/networks

There must be a huge end game out of all these somewhere. Question is what, realizing that the stars they got are really not that huge. Even then they have to pit each with another star to make an explosive attraction. They still got Broner, Thurman, Santa Cruz, Wilder, Porter, Garcia, Khan, all of which are not fond of fighting each other or other top fighters.

I'll never understand the hate for boxing on free TV.

The average casual fan wont take the time to do that. They just want to know that there's a good action packed fight on X day and at X time. This is why HBO is still the leader. When there's an HBO fight its almost guaranteed to be on at 9-10pm ET on a Sat. Both diehards and casuals know this. With PBC, unless you actually research it, you'd never know what time/date/channel their next fight is.

Most of these fights are garbage though. Doesn't matter if you have them on every channel. If it sucks, it sucks.

I think its obvious. Haymon is quoted by an HBO guy (HBO Boxing President or CEO iirc) as saying "I could take over boxing if I wanted" in one of the most famous articles about him from 2011 iirc. I think this is that attempt.

And people can't envision an endgame cuz no one has really tried with much success to make a NFL of boxing. And no one really payed attention or were around to pay attention to see how most sports in the US got to be where they're at now. No one knows how that would even work. Hell many boxing fans are so glass half empty with the sport at this point they act like they don't even like the sport enough to wanna see a NFL of boxing. I think its fairly simple. You do what the UFC has done. Its the most similar sport that has created a NFL of combat sports type entity.

They are making a product fairly well already. The shows all got a HBO-like, UFC-like universally look. You know when you are watching PBC before anyone even gets into the ring. They are branded. They got a huge pool of fighters. They got a huge pool of TV time. They got a huge pool of money. Now its just a game of leaning on your opposition for a few rounds to weaken them further & keep improving your own product. When you start seeing guys from HBO, TR, RN, GBP & or other top fighters come over to PBC thats when things will really start being meaningful for them. If this works as they are trying to make it work there will come a point in time that non-PBC fighters will have few options to fight anyone non-PBC affiliated thus they will drift over to PBC as well. Hell at some point I could even see PBC making offers on promotions like GBP or TR to join PBC if this goes the way they want it to. I mean this whole thing seemingly was attempted to be begin via an acquisition of GBP.

I will say GBP & TR were smart to try to get the monopoly lawsuit thing going sooner rather than later cuz thats the only thing that'll stop PBC at this point (imo). This is basically some Walmart strategy ****. If you're in the US & a lil older you surely remember Walmart coming to your town back in the day & all the mom & pop businesses going out of business over the course of several years after not being able to compete with Walmart's maybe not superior product, but superior pricing & superior shopping experience in that you could buy all your **** at one place. This is the same sorta thing for the most part. Haymon is paying cats better & buying up space on TV. Its just aggressive capitalism working the system in boxing that no one had the confidence in the sport to take advantage of or could see past the next big payday to put into play.

I miss the days when we only had Showtime, HBO and FNF. This PBC crap, having damn near 20 cards a year, I don't like this ****. Bring back boxing on premium channels/FNF only. These mismatches like Thurman-Guerrero, Quillin-Jacobs, Fonfora-Cleverly, Broner-Porter, Dirrell-DeGale, etc. need to get off my god damn tv screen right now!
