"The card peaked at 1.2million and the main event averaged 1million"

    Khan vs Algieri:

"The fight saw Englishman Khan outbox the American over 12 rounds to win a unanimous decision. The telecast, including the re-broadcast that immediately followed the live airing, topped 1,133,000 total views."

Which 9 sports are above boxing in the US? I saw something like MLS are only drawing a couple hundred k per game for example:

MMA averages less than the cards I've just mentioned and the highest UFC PPV cards get drawfed by boxing's.

The highest ranked Tennis tournament, US open got 850k viewers:

the highest ranked golf tournament, PGA tour averaged 2.1million:

All in all, I'm not sure you entirely know what you're talking about and even if they are bigger sports and the numbers don't really reflect that, then it's not like it's on another level when some fights are pulling in the same number of viewers as the PGA tour.

I'll never understand these Yank ****s that say boxing is dead on one hand but on the other - US home of boxing doe.

The reason why the US isn't as dominant is because the sport isn't as popular as it once was. The decline isn't that great though, I think the bigger factor is that other countries have caught up.

Compare the availability too. Over here we have one channel that caters to our boxing needs and that's once every week or two, US has more than a few channels that shows boxing.

No point trying to have a debate here though when Pigeons is quite clearly trollin'.

Couldn't agree with you more mate.

If boxing was is dead in America then you can blame that soppy woman bashing **** Mayweather, i've had turds that are more interesting than his fights.

These yanks need to understand that it's the BRITISH that rule boxing, we invented it, we're the best at at and no greasy chili dog **** can get away from those facts.

In one of the strongest division in boxing - what's so bad about that? Chaves is actually a good opponent, I can't see how anyone can complain.

In your opinion that is one of the strongest divisions in boxing, I believe its starting to get significantly weaker and there are divisions which look more promising.
Maybe on hype basis the WW division looks good.

The point you originally made that Chaves is a poor opponent for Brook. What is it that makes you think that?

While I wouldn't put it as horrifically as the OP, it has been a fantastic year and one that makes you proud as a Brit.

                    Bring on 2016!

He is a glorified gate-keeper he has lost every major title fight he has ever had, outside of all his big named losses he has no good name on his record that he can say he beat and no I wouldn't even have said beating Rios would have counted towards anything but he still lost that.

Good fighters have bottle but who knows the Argentina Vs England thing might actually make him try that and Kell Brook isn't as good as Thurman or Bradley.
