Rejoice in what exactly? GGG is trying to unify his division, if he wins on Sat, that's another title. Then, he has the Cotto-Canelo winner to look forward to, and that's yet another title.

Ward doesn't have anything going on right now at 168 that I'm aware of. If he wants to fight a guy that has big things already lined up in his current division, well, yeah, he needs to bring something to the table, he needs to COMPROMISE. He wasn't willing to do that in the least though, was he?

So to ridicule a guy and intimate that he is "not willing to challenge himself" because he is unifying his current division instead of jumping up in weight for no reason, it doesn't really add up.

If Ward is truly moving up to "challenge himself" and not because he can no longer make 168 in a healthy fashion, then honestly, good for him. When I see that the deal to fight Kovalev is made, then I will give him credit for taking up such a challenge.

If he could no longer make 168 they wouldn't be trying to make a fight with Golovkin after he unifies. Which is what they were trying to do.

Maybe I'm missing the exact remark Abel responded to, but if this is just about Abel saying Ward is a liar in reference to Ward or his sides stance that GGG doesn't want the fight this seems like a whatever thing. Of course GGG & his people wanna fight Ward...at some point, but right now he's got a fight on the table, likely for Cinco De Mayo, vs one of the top 3 names in the sport if he wins his first PPV fight vs another title holder in his division. Why would you wanna move up to another weight division when you got such sexy options at your own weight?

Ward has nothing to look forward to in his own division unless GGG or some other guy leaves there division or Ward moves up. I can understand Ward's desperation with this situation.

well thats what they are referring to, k2 never called ward a liar about the offer, they just said the offer came around the time of the lemieux fight being finalized so they wouldnt take it, sanchez is on record saying ward is a liar and ONLY offered the fight after the lemieux fight was signed, that was just nullified when roc nation released their statements that their offer came before lemieux vs golovkin was signed off.
