Does anyone have any info on when his contract expires/how long he's signed to them?
He should go to Ryabinsky, who may not want to work in a co-promotion. Maybe that's why he hasn't accepted Sergey. Even though ME are not as useless as Caribe.
Or K2 who are actually putting in the work for their fighters.
Fighters should learn from this. Don't sign with Main Events or even Top Rank, it seems like.
HBO has not done crap with their fighters either. It seems like their budget keeps getting smaller every year.
It's time to start getting rid off fighters that don't deserve a spot on HBO and only put fighters that deserve the air time. Well that's just an opinion, anyway.

kovalev takes a fight in late january and stays on pace for a late summer or early fall fight with ward
it aint rocket science. both sides are looking at 2nd half of 2016 for ward vs kovalev.

There were rated guys in his 3 organizations that don't have fights coming up.
This is a homecoming fight for him, and let's be honest, not like Europe never have these kind of fights and then nobody shows up.
HBO would've had the option to pick up.
Unless they're saving Kovalev for something big early 2016 (Which I doubt, and I don't qualify Pascal rematch as big) then I don't know why they're not doing this other than they have no money people to help put it on.
If it was Hyrunov, that dude just lost his promoters licence.

Before people blame Main Events w/o knowing all the facts, keep in mind what Pelullo went through being forced to make Provodnikov/Castillo.
When asked if he was squeamish about this match-up, Pelullo answered, “Listen, the only thing that upsets me with Jose Luis Castillo…no, there’s a couple of things: we’ve offered the fight to legitimate opponents and they have turned down the fight for good money. So when it came to a choice of choosing Jose Luis Castillo or Julio Diaz or somebody of that ilk, they went with Jose Luis Castillo because he’s a bigger name and it was my recommendation that we go a different road but at the end of the day, we went for that road.”
“They” would be the local promoter, Andre Rabinsky, and the Russian television network airing this card. While Castillo is no longer the fighter he once was, his past is appealing to those putting up the money for this event. It’s why Roy Jones has become a staple out there even at his advanced age. While he’s well past his prime as a prizefighter, Castillo’s still an iconic figure to the fans in this part of the world.
And with that, plenty of deserved heat will be earned by Provodnikov and his camp. Pelullo says he is ready to take it.
“I’m gonna have to because this is what my partners in Russia wanted. They wanted Jose Luis Castillo against my better judgment. They said this is what will draw better and when the heat comes down, well, I’m a big boy. It is what it is. You can only do so much. I told them to go in a different direction and I’m not sending it off on them. That’s the truth,” he says.
“But at the end of the day, when this final decision was made and they wanted it for Channel 2 – and Channel 2 preferred a “name” fighter even though he’s less of a fighter – that’s what we went with.”
I wouldn't be surprised given the available opponents for Kovalev, that the Russian backers refused.

A couple of weeks back.....
..... Duva stated that she had a rewarding discussion with Roc Nation regarding a potential Ward/Kovalev fight...... she was positive about the discussions and stated that Ward/Kovalev would definitely happen, but that Kovalevs schedule was booked for the immediate future.
