87 and 0 to be exact. So yea 49 and 0 is great, but not the best ever. Maciano s record was great because, he was a heavyweight, considered the toughest man on the planet in those days. No P4P back then just who could whip everybody no matter of size. and no other heavyweight has done that since. But there have been more than a few lighter weights to have done it, and much more. Archie Moore was 185-23-10 With 131 KO's, and he fought many fights out of his weight, and into his late 40's or early 50's. I believe he has a claim to the title along with SRR, Henry Armstrong, Joe Luis, Marciano,Leonard, Duran, Chavez, Lopez, Sanchez, and many more. Johnny Tapia was 48 and 0 before he lost. A great fighter, but not TBE. Mayweather, nor Gonzales will not be either. I know I'm going far back, but to claim TBE, is a bold statement.

Whilst being tremendous accomplishments, Mayweather's record does not stand up as a like-for-like comparison and neither will Chocolatito's. So please drop the comparison Boxing Scene.
Good post. I just said the same thing before I read yours.

The media created a monster. Now everybody is going to cherry pick their way to 49-0.

Marciano avoided Tommy Jackson, Nino Valdez, and 17 of his wins were against fighters with losing records, his resume is like Ricky Hattons.was.when he was unbeaten and old louis, walcott.and Charles. He fought in a god awful era and his resume doesnt compare to Floyds period.

It really isnt. Its just gets overrated because its part of the way Floyd marketed himself. Chavez Sr didnt suffer a loss until his 91st fight. That's 42 more fights than Floyd had before he saw a defeat.
