Thats another way of doing it, probably easier lol. It shows mayweather in a good light but there are always anomolies and probably would be illuminating to see what Chavez was between 40-87 and mayweather between 0-47 as Chavez' career didn't really get going until he'd had 40 fights.

But yeah, Mayweather stands up pretty good any way the light is shone.

I'd also add that I give much more credit for defeating an active world champion than a former world champion.

REMEMBER AROUND HERE, Undefeated means you didnt fight everyone...Well thats what it meant when floyd did it, lol. And doesnt he have to win in more weight classes, because thats what Floyd did, so he should get his move on with multiple division titles, to be fairly compared...

And why not? Suppose in his next 6 fights that among others he beats Viloria, beats Estrada (the Pacquaio of his division) and then steps up a division and beats Inoue.

That would be 49-0 and 4 divisions AND COUNTING. He could retire there or go on and fight the Berto's of his division just to rack up a few more wins.

You're probably gonna turn around and say it's theoretical - and if you do I'm gonna say the same - you can't say "it won't be the same at all" because you don't know what is in his future.

Nice try but he just fought a guy 38-29-3 but people complain about Berto. Though 43-0, 37 ko's is impressive for a regular fighter it all comes down to quality of opposition and none of these undefeated guys can match Floyd there. By the time Floyd was 43-0 he had already defeated:

The problem with todays new fans are that every loss on the scorecards is a robbery. Lara vs Canelo they think was a robbery, Mayweather vs Pac was a robbery...so they cant judge what really was robbery Whittaker vs Chavez was akin to a guy with a gun and mask "stick-up" robbery, but fans these days...every floyd fight that went the distance was a robbery and the judges, commentators, and ref was allegedly paid off. lol

Mexican fighters records don't count. Everybody knows that they have their amateur career as professionals in the Mexican boxing circuit.

Both Chavez Jr and Canelo racked up over 30 wins before they were even legally allowed to drink.
