You could maybe include Scott for Wilder too, but it's true, their records aren't comparable. No idea why the OP would go down this route.

What other names at Heavyweight should Povetkin fight or which names could he have fought to make his resume look better?

        Povetkin's best wins:
        Takam, Chagaev, Chambers

Takam & Stiverne are by far the best wins each man has on their resume and are pretty equal level of fighters. Perez doesn't count as he didn't even train, same result would occur with Wilder. After that is a big fall off in quality.

Chagaev-Has close wins over Valuev, Oquendo, Ruiz, and Vyrchys. An elite fighter would not struggle so mightily with all these guys. Valuev, the best win out of all 3, has a robbery over Holyfield, and could barely beat Ruiz, he too is an extremely overrated fighter.

Chambers-A close win over Peter & Brock, KO'd by Wlad, a loss to Adamek, and a loss at cruiser. What has he proven against quality competition other than he loses?

Povetkin also struggled badly with former protected cruiserweight champion Marco Huck. He also got badly beaten by Wlad, even Jennings put up a much better fight.

Who else is left on Povetkin's resume, Boswell, Charr, Estrada, Donald, Byrd, Wawryzk, Rahman? Wilder would run through all of these guys.

It's Stiverne & Takam, then everyone else. Povetkin didn't exactly dominate Takam either like Wilder did Stiverne. He got buckled a couple of times and the fight was relatively close until the KO.

        its the weakest hw era

        what do you expect?

        anyway, povetkin is good

he is able to close the gap relatively quickly so if wilders keep his head up in the air , he could get hurt

And he's fighting Wach next. He isn't taking any easy fights, basically. Much respect to Sasha.

I really hope he beats Wilder next year and gets another Vlad fight.

Ive seen a few threads and comments like this recently. Cant remember if they are all the same poster.

One that sticks out was the comparison between GGG and Wilders resume. I think he mentioned Kelvin Price as one of Wilders big wins

Now I'm really unimpressed after learning this guy cheated and still struggled that badly smh

Wilder was going to hurt this guy.

Well this could go for ALL the top guys barring Fury b/c his recent win but take away Wlad and Furys resume is very weak for a guy who was pro for 7 years. As stated before Wlad is the only real one with a solid resume, all the other guys from Haye to Wilder are all the same really. If they all fought eachother win or lose we would see whats what but no one wants to do that so...you end up with matches like povetkin vs Wach and Wilder vs Stiverne. Joshua is exemp because he only has 16 fights but his resume is better than those guys anyway considering hes been the least experienced, and hes takeing on undefeated guys any which way you look at it.

Personally I have never rated Potvekin.

                    I didn't rate Wilder but he's better.

It's a new era of green HW's so to be expected that most are raw

Styles make fights, Wilder's size and Povetkin's lack of it give Wilder a huge advantage.

Same goes for Wlad-Fury, Wlad has always struggled landing against mobile fighters such as Ibragimov and Haye. He mostly lands that right hand on stationary targets, guys with little to not head movement which is what his resume is filled with.

Wlad also holds to neutralize any and all inside fighting, this works best against smaller or slow fighters. He's a very basic fighter, he has no inside fighting ability which is why he threw like 3 body shots the whole fight lol.

Fury's mobility, height, and length neutralized Wlad's ability to keep distance, and that's where the fight was won. Wlad is nothing without his size and holding.
