This Chaves talk is basically for a warm-up fight in May.

Because Brook has since requested to fight twice this summer. Once in May and then again in July. Diego Chaves would actually be a great fight to get at 1 months notice. They're not going to get anyone spectacular to fight in May. How can you not understand that?

July fight could be Marquez dependent on if he wants to fight again - if his knee is OK. If not, it will probably be Rios.

You do realise that Brook-Chaves would basically be an undercard fight on the Mitchell-Linares show? It's not meant to rise Brook's stock, it's just a keep busy fight

Brook will be headlining another show in the summer. That's the one that will raise his stock.

Chaves isn't known in the UK. That doesn't make him a bad fighter. Like I said, he's not a name but he's a tough opponent. I think he's a harder style for Brook than Shawn Porter. Devon Alexander and Algieri were both coming off very one sided losses when Khan cherry picked them.

Chaves is coming off winning handily against Rios and having a very competitive fight with Tim Bradley.

Chaves is clearly the better choice of opponent.

Actually Alexander was coming off a very one-sided win over Jesus Soto-Karass. Algieri was coming off a loss to Pacquiao, who is one of the best fighters on the planet. The difference is both were champions.

Chaves was never a champion, and did not win handily against Rios, although he was winning the fight, he committed a lot of fouls. Also this idea that he was in a competitive fight with Bradley is laughable. That was one of the worst decisions of the year, especially when you consider Bradley out landed him by over 70 punches. That should have been a 116-112 victory for Bradley.

Chaves would get shut out by Alexander in the same way Maidana did. Algieri would beat him as well.

Chaves having moral victories doesn't make him a higher class of fighter than Algieri or Alexander...

Rios was supposed to be Brook's big fight. Rios is a much bigger name than Chaves but we saw what happened when they fought in the ring and who was the better fighter.

Clear distinction between bigger fight and better fighter.

Can you show me where I have said Shawn Porter was even great? I've literally called him a terrible boxer thousands of times on here and was shocked how amateurish Brook made him look. Chaves for me will give Brook a much tougher fight.

For a contradiction to work, you have to show me saying the opposite of something. For exampe -"Khan is ducking Brook and I'm disappointed" is a contradiction to "LOL Amir has convinced me that he isn't ducking Brook".

I meant fights that actually mattered. Who cares if he beat Soto Bum-Ass really? And I remember him getting tagged a few times even in that fight.

Pacquiao is honestly past his best yet he was still able to make Algieri look like he didn't belong in a boxing ring. It was literally one of the most one sided decision wins in the history of the sport.

And Khan fought this guy straight after that. Going life and death with him.

Algieri was a titlist at 140lbs. Alexander was a paper titlist at 147. Does being a champion automatically make you better than someone?

I said he was winning handily against Rios before the bogus DQ. I have watched the Bradley fight once and it was certainly competitive even though I thought Bradley won at the time. I have been planning to watch it again.

Alexander is more talented than Chaves overall but we're talking about the versions of these fighters when Khan and Brook fought them.

Brook is not facing a defeated demoralised version of Chaves the way Khan chose those versions of Alexander and Algieri. Both of whom were meant to be tailor made for him by the way due to their pure boxer styles and lack of punch power.
