he's beaten two titlists (niida and yaegashi), three fighters who won titles after being beaten by him (takayama, estrada and rodriguez jr) and one former titlist (sosa). that's pretty solid. ward's numbers are only marginally better

Ward has defeated proven elite level fighters like Froch and Kessler. Gonzalez is a good fighter, but he is fighting in an EXTREMELY WEAK DIVISION. So beating a champ there doesn't always mean a lot. Gonzalez's resume is not solid, he doesn't have one truly good signature win.

the win over estrada is just as good as ward's wins over froch and kessler. what makes kessler so great? losing every big fight he was in except one, which was subsequently reversed in the rematch? i think you put too much stock into name value

and for the record 108-115 is perhaps the most exciting region in boxing right now

Kessler got a win against Froch. Estrada got no such win.
Kessler had a higher KO percentage.
Kessler only lost to great fighters like Calzaghe, Ward and Froch (who he was 1-1 against). Estrada lost to Juan Carlos Sanchez...

Don't even compare Estrada to Kessler. Estrada has to deserve it first.

you don't know what you're talking about. viloria and segura have both featured in reputable p4p lists at certain times in their careers

And avenged it by stoppage. Then proceeded to beat Viloria (who was ranked in the ring ratings), Segura and Melindo. He has earned it.
