Pound for pound is just the rater's opinion of how good a boxer is for his size. He doesn't have to have beaten a great fighter. You just have to think he is the best pound for pound. That's enough. Sometimes a boxer is great pound for pound but there are no great fighters his weight for him to beat. That doesn't mean you can't rate him the best pfp if you think he is. Ring magazine is no more or less qualified to say who is best pfp than you or I. Ring magazine is run by boxing fans with their own opinions. Nothing makes their opinions superior to any other boxing fan with eyes and a brain.

Not a bad idea that would make things interesting. Leave it open and lets see who earns that spot instead of getting it by Default! Great Idea!

Yes he is deserving of P4P #1 and its purely on the strength of his resume

What does P4P mean to you? I would ask that about everybody who love to cry and complain about P4P list when who they like is not rated high enough for them. It is not a Popularity Contest it is not about who you like and have a Man Crush on MORE

What Is Your Definition Of P4P?

This is what I was always told was P4P:

If you are rating Ward #1 P4P then you don't understand the P4P list. The list is who currently is the P4P best boxer and with his inactivity and lack of good opponents in the activity he has had does NOT make him one of the current bests. 5+ years ago you could argue for him to be up there but he's done nothing to maintain that rating.
