Cotto is one of the best fighters that will give you **** for the buck.

Takes a risky fight every once in a while.

Gave Margarito a fight when majority wouldn't take the risk.

Floyd was scared when confronted by Margarito, Cotto took the fight even though he lost the first fight(yes, he made tons of mistakes that he corrected in the rematch).

He should be on the P4P list because he's done more than some guys on there.

Say what you want but the guy fought everyone from 140-147 and Martinez and Canelo.

If you can find a guy who fought better fighters in their prime in this generation I'd love to hear it.. You don't have to win every fight to get the respect of real boxing fans..

It's not that, it's his fanbase that puts him way up in the sky and then they get mad, start calling people haters because we don't see him all the way up there. That's the issue that many people on here have.

Cotto is like the Drew Brees of boxing. A great player in his own right, but his supporters overreach when they insist his name be mentioned in the same breath with the true ATGs of his era (Manning/Brady).

He's closer to the Ken Norton of his era then Ali/Frazier. But his fans don't seem to accept that.

Oh yeah, and the whole 'Cotto-is-a-warrior' isht gets WAY overplayed. Way too many examples of Cotto going into survival/run-out-the-clock mode for that. Not questioning his heart, but I don't see a unique level of grit or determination to his game. When he gets nailed or starts tiring, he gets on the back foot, just like everyone else.

Very fair post, I have no complaints. But fans will be fans you can't fault the fighter for the crap some fans post on here.
