Hate him or love him Miguel Cotto deserves respect.

He's a rare breed of fighter who's always fought the best guys.

    undefeated Torres

    Undefeated Pauly

    undefeated Quintana

Mosely only lost to Winky and Forest prior and years before Floyd and Manny fought him

    prime Margarito in 08

Clottey who only lost to Margarito the 10 years prior to their fight

    prime Pac in 09

Margarito again in 11 getting revenge

    Mayweather in 12

undefeated Trout at 154 in 12

Martinez who was done but he destroyed him..

Now a prime Canelo in 15

Say what you want but the guy fought everyone from 140-147 and Martinez and Canelo.

If you can find a guy who fought better fighters in their prime in this generation I'd love to hear it.. You don't have to win every fight to get the respect of real boxing fans..

Got a feeling in 10 years I'll be able to replace Cotto's name with Canelo when he reaches the end of a great career.

Idk probably the Martinez win as sad as that is because he won the middleweight lineal title.

The Mosely win was a good win at that point as well..

I didn't say he won every fight, I said he deserved respect from real boxing fans for fighting the best, mostly at their best.

I'd say it was Shane Mosley.

It might be Canelo if he can win impressively.

I don't respect quitters. He quit and took a knee before a Mexican, that's just humiliating to me as a Puerto Rican. He shamed our island.

History will look back and see Cotto was the guy who fought literally everyone. Win or lose, nobody else will have a better list of names on their resume than this guy. Especially after Canelo and possibly GGG.

I mean seriously, look who he's fought. He's the De la Hoya of our generation, only Cotto hasn't lost ALL of his biggest fights. Fan or not, Cotto deserves everyone's respect in the boxing world.
