Agreed, Martinez should have fought GGG. He didn't, so GGG had to choose his opponents. He chose easier fights rather than tougher ones to keep himself in position to fight the lineal champ. Again, brings back memories.
Again, I agree with you. As I have repeatedly posted-I understand why GGG is not fighting ward before he goes for Canelo. That said, how come you are not trumpeting "dare to be great" as you used to?
Where we differ-you and others citing unification as the reason for this when you know its about staying undefeated and maximizing his ability to earn when the big fight comes.
You want only Ward to risk his undefeated record and future monster payday by going up to the next division but not GGG.
That is extremely hypocritical.
Being that GGG is now in a comfortable position which is incredibly similar to the position Ward use to be in I don't think the 164lbs offer is bad, you either take it or you don't and move on case and scenario Lomachenko with Rigondeuax neither men have made a bigger story about it than needed to but Ward has been running off his mouth a lot the only time you hear comments from GGG camp on Ward is when they're directly replying to something Ward has said now.
People are acting like coming up to 168lbs for Carl Froch was a safe fight for GGG and that's the only reason he would do so to be honest there is so much talk about what happened in the past that its getting irrelevant.
And which fight did GGG have on offer back then when Martinez wasn't willing to fight him?
Dare to be great can wait when there are bigger fish to fry its just simple, you don't jump up to 168 then back down to 160 for three fights then back to 168, he is 33/34 years old If he moves up weight he should be staying at that weight and as of right now there are more bigger fights at MW than there is at 168 not unless he intended on going to 175 shortly after a few fights.
Also on the record its a pity Carl Froch didn't fight him because the Andre Ward fight likely would have happened a lot sooner than it will, this is nothing like Pacquiao Vs Mayweather there is no career record pay-day on the line and it likely wouldn't be a fight that would get out to the masses.Last edited by M Bison; 09-16-2015, 12:42 PM.

BTW, to answer your question. Because GGG is a throwback warrior. Unlike cowards like Floyd, GGG fights for the fans, glory, and to be the best. At least that's what his fans say.

BTW, when you address me concerning GGG, don't say the word unify. Say bum Lemiex, who's been KO'd and decisioned by C level comp. Lee, who's been KO'd by C level comp. And Cotto, who was washed up 3yrs ago when he fought Floyd. Let's start attatching some names and resumes to all this unification crap.
I disagree with Lemieux. He's better than Paul Smith and Rodriguez, Ward's last two opponents in my opinion. Let's not forget 100x more exciting.
The greatest MWs in history went on to unify did they not? Most of those fights weren't even all that either.

Not just Ward. Remember HBO has used its programming to talk down the Ward/GGG fight. They have a vested interest in seeing GGG keep winning, especially after Nonito lost to Rigo.
We can agree coming to 168 for froch is safer than ward. the fact GGG was willing to do that for the money, while not going to 168 for Ward, suggests this as well.
Well now you are making yourself look incredibly biased if daring to be great can now wait.
I agree you don't jump up and come back-which is why going to 168 to fight chavez or froch shows that unification wasn't a priority and that his fans are just using that as cover.

He's about to fight David Lemieux on PPV. Clearly a Ward fight would be PPV, too.Last edited by T18Z; 09-16-2015, 12:51 PM.
