Now that 168 means Ward-and possibly losing, which could affect the canelo/cotto winner payday,-he chooses unification as his goal.

I'm not gonna pretend that I sure boxing sites all day and bird dawg social media to see what fighters are up to. But in 5yrs+ as a beltholder, I never heard a peep about unification until Ward came calling.
But it's a real bad look when they're willing to move up to 168 for Chavez and Froch but make a thousand excuses why they can't fight Ward. Just say you are waiting for the Cotto/Alvarez winner. There is nothing wrong with that. That they feel the need to make so many excuses suggests they are scared of Golovkin fighting Ward.

Sturm fighting Martin Murray, Macklin and Daniel Geale over GGG?
Martinez fighting Martin Murray, Macklin and Darren Barker over GGG?
Nobody had a problem with Martinez taking his payday against JCC Jr he earned it from fighting multiple hard fights throughout his career but he kept that belt hostage after that and handed it over to Cotto when he was half crippled, he could have had the fight with GGG in Argentina which was the fight that happened after Martinez fought JCC Jr but he opted for Murray and he should have lost there and then but thanks to the sneaky judges ae?
Also nobody has a problem with Cotto Vs Canelo happening we're all fight fans and we all want the big fights to happen but to follow up after you've had that big fight with someone who hasn't done anywhere near as much as Golovkin is unacceptable.

GGG fans can spin and scream about unifying belts all they want. Which right now means Lemieux, Cotto, Lee. But as it stands right now, beating Andre Ward at 168lb does 100x more for his legacy than all of those fights combined. And if Cotto and Lee their upcoming fights. Beating Canelo and Saunders still comes up way short of an Andre Ward win. Feel free to spin all you want. But my post is 100% fact. And any real fight fan knows it.

JCC Jr and Carl Froch = Both PPV fights
Ward = Not a PPV fight
