As for cotto/canelo, It should do more. If GGG/Lemeuix can hit what Floyd did with Gatti then I thinkla Canelo/GGG fight to get near Manny/ODH 1.25 mil.
    Agree on both counts.

Overall, it's 2 good PPV showings with Canelo and Pacquiao, and 4 bad ones with Guerrero, Maidana x2, and Berto. Maybe Showtime made enough with the two blockbusters to offset the negatives from the other four. It's possible, but I doubt we'll ever hear about it.

Theres approx 0% chance of Berto ever beating Mayweather.

Add into that the driving force of Floyd and Mannys rivalry/ marketability (will they fight? Who will win?) has now happened and it was a complete non event.

that's the issue. most of floyd's opponents have been no-hopers anyway.

guerrero, ortiz, old shane, old cotto, chino maidana are decent fighters, but they weren't beating one of the best defensive fighters of all time.

these two used the prospect of a fight against eachother to promote their fights against no-hopers. it worked. floyd could be a billionaire if he didn't spend money like a 10 year old.

Doubt the Maidana or Guerrero ones were bad at all. And Canelo and Pacquiao were more than "good."

Try 2 incredible PPV's, three average to decent and 1 bad.

You know his pride is hurt. When Floyd says hey everyone I am coming out of retirement. People will say nah man stay retired.

The numbers are offset somewhat by the cost. Remember each of these PPV's were $69.99 and up.

I think if the PPV's were $49.99 they may have sold more.

Definitely. I believe GGG/Lemiuex will be the lower cost of $50/$60HD, and Cotto/Canelo will be the usual $55/$65. GGG/Lemiuex should see decent numbers, with the Cotto/Canelo probably doing above average to great numbers.

I'd be surprised if it did 550k.

True. At the very least though most of his other opponents were coming in with momentum for the casuals to get behind. Berto was a whole other level of no hoper.

You mean questionably stopping the mighty Josesito Lopez didn't elevate him to Mayweather threat status?!?!
