Really shows how much people move the goalposts for Floyd.

Oscar fought more than half his career in the 90's ....he was in the Roy Jones era.

Floyd fought most of his big fights in the 00's.....last I checked, Pacquiao got fighter of the decade in the 00's...

Like I said previously, Floyd has longevity on his side...97 to 15, if he had fought more often, maybe he could've fought more prime opponents...shame he didn't beat the best at 140 and then took that break when 147 was hot...otherwise his resume could've been ridiculous.

ODLH's resume is not as good overall... you got:
Whitaker (sure he was 33yo but this was still a very good win. He was ranked #4 P4P at the time and was only about 2 years removed from when he was last ranked #1 P4P)
Chavez Sr (had certainly seen better days but it was still a decent win)
Tito (should arguably have been a great win)
Genaro Hernandez, Gonzalez and Molina were pretty good.
Probably didn't deserve that win over Sturm.
L's to Mosley, Mayweather, Pacquiao, Hopkins. Can't lose too much stock for losing to greats when they were great, but you don't gain all that much either. The Mosley fight at least was competitive and somewhat debatable.

Yeah the more I think about it the less and less I can see this being much of an argument. ODLH deserves some props for taking the risks he took but ultimately he didn't win enough big fights to rate over Floyd.

EDIT: Even only weighing wins, you just can't put this over Floyd. Canelo, Cotto, Pac, Corrales, Castillo, Hatton, Maidana, Hernandez > than the above.

Floyd has longevity on his side, and a stronger resume at the lighter weights. Both at their peaks at 140 or 147 head to head=Oscar win.

Resumes are close. Depends what you like, longevity or prime dangerous fighters.

Huh? Chavez and Whitaker were Oscar's best wins and they were both over the hill. Remember the OP's question... in terms of WINS who has the better resume.

Yeah he fought Trinidad, B-Hop, Mosley in his Prime but you cannot leave out the fact that he LOST all of them (looking back he was Robbed vs Trinidad though to be fair). Just Saying!
I agree about DLH being in a tougher era and Floyd being ranked higher than him. However you can't disregard the close/controversial wins while not factoring the fact he got robbed against Trinidad and Mosley II. Either you credit the wins as wins and losses as losses or acknowledge him being robbed while benefiting from some favorable score cards in certain fights.

The win against an old Chavez IS better than a win against an old Pac. When DLH beat Chavez, Chavez only had one loss, which was a decision loss, and he gave him his first KO loss of his career while Pacquiao already lost several times, a few by KO and the win was by a decision.

I guess you give credit to Martinez for beating Salido yesterday? DLH beat prime tito and Mosley on the BALCO co(ktail and everyone knows it...those two fighters alone are better than anyone Floyd beat.

Like I said, If Floyd had beaten at least either Tszyu or Hatton at 140, and the prime welterwights of 07 or Pac before Marquez ended his confidence, then he'd have some fighters close or better to the level of those two that Oscar beat...but he didn't.

And Whitaker was past prime but he was also undefeated(unless you don't think he got robbed vs Ramirez)...hell, if anything that's another win that Foyd can't come close to. The great fighters past prime that Floyd beat were Mosley and Oscar, and they had been inactive and beaten up before Floyd, and were basically part time fighters who needed the right match up to look good. Even Chavez was at least active and had only lost to Randall and Whitaker, never KO'ed.

LOL talk about moving the goal posts. Oscar has LOSSES against Tito and Mosley NOT wins. Did you even read the OPs opening post? And no, beating roided Mosley does not crap all over May's resume. May has wins over guys who beat Mosley as well as Mosley while Mosley was still champion. He has wins over guys who beat Oscar. He has a win over Oscar himself!

Oscar's best WINS were against an old Whitaker and old Chavez. I think wins over Pacquiao, Mosley, Cotto, Canelo, Oscar himself, Corrales, and Hatton are better han anything Oscar has done.

If you want to use the prime/past prime argument it should be applied to Oscar as well.

Are we talking about 38 year old Floyd?

If you're going to do the whole arguably lost argument then you have to include the arguably beat Trinidad, Mosley II.

There's a difference between a past prime undefeated fighter(yes, whitaker had never lost but for one robbery and was rated in the top p4p top 3 for 8 consecutive years when Oscar beat him) and a past prime fighter who had officially lost 5 of his last 7 big fights and a year layoff(Shane, and really lost 6 because he got a gift against Oscar while juiced, yes he was rated p4p but taht was only because of name, he had one fight in 09 and he went from 5 years unrated and thought shot after Mayorga, to rated.....talk about overhype.), Oscar embarrassed himself at middleweight, retired, came back and beat Mayorga before fighting Floyd(not rated p4p in 3-4 years, even longer than Chavez)......He had not won at an elite level in 4 years by the time he fought Floyd. Chavez was actually an active fighter and a title holder with only two losses(one official) and never stopped, when Oscar made him quit.

As far as the controversial fights, I'd rather go with the majority, most think Oscar-beat Whitaker-Quartey-Mosley II-Trinidad. Lost to Sturm.

I'm not even discounting Floyd for the fact that the majority also thinks he lost to Castillo.
