What "all his demands" nonsense? All GYM/Stevenson have ever asked for is for Main Events/Kovalev to agree to participate in the purse bid.

If their camp is willing to put up more money, they get to control the fight; if Stevenson's camp is willing to put up the money, Stevenson gets to control the fight.

If Main Events doesn't value the biggest fight for their top fighter as much as GYM values the biggest fight for their top fighter, that's not anyone's fault but Team Kovalev's.

Duva can get the fight on HBO as long as she comes up with a higher purse bid.

If she can't then there's obviously more money available from the PBC side and they are the ones who should televise the fight. Why should HBO be allowed to offer less money and still be rewarded with the bout?

HBO was ****ing around with the money; nothing more, nothing less.

Because they locked the people's champ in an exclusive contract. So if the fight is to happen, has to be HBO. Stevenson's other options are much worse, though much less risky. Can't wait for his next Spike show.

They wouldn't be nickel and dimed for a tuneup vs guy straight off FNF. They were done getting Bertoed by Haymon. And look how it worked out for Stevenson, terrible opponents, ratings, gate, afterthought in his home town.

Only in boxing can that offer be considered a duck and the guy turning it down be considered ducked. They simplified the network issue, come fight on our network for 50% of everything and we can do this right now. By the logic around here folks here would give up their house to go live in haymon's studio apartment...just because. I bet you Adonis makes more money off this fight than he would in 4-5 pbc broadcasts.
The fight is mandated by the WBC, and HBO isn't the only channel interested in carry a fight that has been mandated by the WBC.

Every Stevenson fight, sans the one that was on CBS, has been on PPV; Team Kovalev got one taste of that Canadian PPV money and damn near wanted wanted to move him to Montreal, lol

              be honest with yourself

If HBO doesn't want to open up their wallets for this fight then they could give Kovalev a one-time exemption to let him face Stevenson off their network. After all, should Krusher win he will return to them with the linear title and as a much more marketable commodity.

As boxing fans we should pressure HBO to do exactly that. Either give these guys more money or get out of the way and let someone else do it so we can see them get it on.

Spin it however you want; Stevenson was able to put himself and his family into a position that he couldn't have even managed with HBO, and now Kovalev looks like a straight punk because HBO is still pinching pennies.

And, honestly, look how it's worked; if you're a fan who has HBO largely for boxing content (basically the reason why I picked up Showtime in the first place, though did end up find shows to like), you've got three, maybe four, fight cards to close out the year, with tons of other intriguing fights not being made because HBO is unwilling to commit the dollars to the sport.

They are, by offering him an A-side deal on HBO PPV, and a career payday by some distance. They're not a charity, why would they let let their exclusive guy go elsewhere for the most appealing fight in a name/money starved division?

Until HBO gives way to your overwhelming pressure, Stevenson's options are HBO PPV for career best purse by far, or more of these scrubs for far less money and acclaim. Why are you pushing for 2?
