Canelo was too inexperienced, too slow on his feet, and was clearly weight drained.

The key for Floyd during that fight was to take advantage of Canelo's inability to throw punches without planting his feet. Floyd was shifting his position ever so slightly and just enough after every shot. This slight movement kept Canelo off-balance and every time Canelo tried to follow-up on an opening, it was no longer there. This made him think way too much about what he wanted to do and act too little on what he could do.

Paulie discussed this tactic and used video to demonstrate how effective Floyd used it to keep Canelo off-balance through-out the whole fight.

It should also be noted here, that there aren't too many fighters that could stand that close to Canelo during the fight and not get tagged.

The accuracy was sick during that fight ....

Mayweather is very good and Canelo may have been weak at 152. Mayweather always speaks of Canelo with the highest of praise in regards to Canelo's fighting skills so Mayweather thinks he is a good fighter.

Because Floyd is superior to Canelo in almost every way possible.

I think Canelo is a very smart fighter, but he tried to match wits with a genius which made him over think...

floyd used the soft jab to handcuff canelo so that any punch that canelo would throw would be seen in full view and countered. in other words he didn't throw the jab to hurt canelo but to bait canelo into opening up. from here, it was a catch 22 situation for nelo. Throw and get countered or don't throw and get hit with the right hand.

Mayweather pretty much said Canelo was a good all around boxer, rarely do you see Mayweather say that about an opponent he finished beating.
