Khan fighting killers while the other Welterweights are fighting nobodies

He walks forward in a ****ing straight line without moving his head. He's soooooooooo stwoooong. Does not cut it with no skill or defensive prowess at this level. I can't stand Khan, but for damn sure I can see the tree's for the forest. A puncher's chance is next to nothing at this level. Can't believe people are trying to put this fight down and trying to twist it to discredit Khan. This would be a stylistic nightmare and also a very hard puncher. Some of you who admittedly don't like Khan acknowledge that this deserves applause whereas others are just proving how much of an emotional hater they really are. To outpoint Ruslan you have to go to hell and back, who's beaten him easily? So how is it an easy fight, you clearly think of Khan so highly.
Also, Eddie Hearn and Brook were seriously considering fighting Provo however they said he wouldn't have been ready for September. Ruslan>Chaves. You can argue otherwise but Chaves hasn't beaten anyone when he stepped up and he won his interim title against a guy like 13-11, tough challenger but extremely unproven. Don't **** on this fight and praise Brook-Chaves, both tough fights but one has been promising you Bradley and Marquez and the other is "finally" considering fighting a puncher.
Inb4 Provodnikov walking forward all night into 1-2's until his eyes are shut. If ALgieri could do it and he hasn't showcased a particularly strong beard at all then for damn sure Khan could.

Hmmm alright let me think about how the opposition compares:Can't believe people are trying to put this fight down and trying to twist it to discredit Khan. -I think Provo will probably be a tougher opponent for Khan than Chavez is for Brook, plus he's still rated higher @ 140 than Chaves is @ 147.
-Chaves is actually a welterweight though, Provo last fight at WW was w/ ancient Castillo almost a year ago, and not prior to that since Bradley a year before that (and almost no other times).
-Provo's best win was Alvarado, who while not great would easily be the best win on Chaves's resume. (And I think he has the better resume overall) I also thought he clearly won against Herrera (I had it 8-4). His other three losses were thin decisions to Matthysse, Algieri, and Bradley, who were all hurt by him in their fights at some point.
-Chaves has basically no wins of note... the best one was for the WBA interim against eh worthy 36-3 Massoudi who has done **** all since then (now 39-8). He won a few rounds against Thurman before getting stopped, was ahead of Rios before getting DQ'd, but was more than fortunate to get a draw against Bradley.
-Provodnikov is rather 1-dimensional. He has a chin of granite and the will to keep coming forward, even against a solid puncher like Matthysse. Still, Chaves clearly has more in his boxing arsenal than Provo.
Conclusion: Two fights with a clear favorite in each. Provo might stop Khan, Chaves might expose Brook, the prior seems more likely but neither event seems particularly probable. Given that Khan is coming off of fighting Algieri and Brook from Frankie Gavin, both of these fights are frankly disappointing.Comment

This is a dangerous fight for Khan. Ruslan has all the attributes that in theory, should trouble Khan. Pressure fighter who keeps coming forward, can punch, has a good chin.
He's basic skill wise, lacks defense and head movement, which should allow Khan to use his speed to box and move. Can he keep Ruslan off him for 12 rounds though...i'd doubt it. An interesting fight IMO.Comment

except he throws punches from outer/middle range, has significantly shorter arms than khan, doesn't counter-punch, and doesn't cut off the ring well. don't get me wrong, i love the siberian rocky, but he just got bashed up badly one full division below the one khan will fight him at. when will khan face a real welterweight on good form? brook and thurman are dying to fight himComment

Khan should fight Porter, easier fight for him than Ruslan.
Ruslan is dangerous, he has game changing power in both hands, something Porter doesn't have.
A win over Ruslan is a solid name to have on ur resume...same cant be said about Chaves
I heard Ruslan is on Herns list as a potential opponent for BrookLast edited by FrankieBruno; 09-04-2015, 08:04 AM.Comment

at the end of the day they're both primarily known for giving tim bradley a tough fight. why not fight bradley himself instead? and i direct this question at both khan and brookKhan should fight Porter, easier fight for him than Ruslan.

Dangerous fight. Not sure I see Khan taking it but props if he does.
Ruslan will put hands on him. He has put hands on every fighter he has ever fought Matthysse, Bradley, Herrera, Algieri.
Khan will hold his feet for too long and get hit with something big and it will be downhill from there.
All of those have better chins than Khan and recovery a hell of a lot faster, plus they don't fight ****** when they are hurt.
Of course Khan will be ahead, he'll be effortlessly outboxing Ruslan until he makes that one mistake of holding his feet for that split second too long and he'll get clattered.
Seen a few threads grumbling about Khan potentially taking this fight. I have nothing but credit for Khan taking it, that is a tough fight and he will get hit and hurt at some point. I think its winnable if he can weather the Ruslan onslaught though I am not so sure he can, I don't think he recovers well at all when hurt.
Nobody should be on Khans case if he takes this fight as seen against Maidana, Diaz, Peterson & Algieri he looks very vulnerable under pressure.
I don't think Ruslan is quite as limited as others do, you do have to watch out for counters.Comment

Ruslan is the bigger name and his power and toughness has always been talked about..
Nobody knows who Chaves is and when people bring up his name its usually to do with low blows
The only thing both have in common is, some people say Chaves would have beat Rios if it werent for the DQ and Ruslan was screwed out of the win against Aligeri.
The fact Hern is name dropping Ruslan as a opponent for Brook for a big fight next year, should tell you he is a bigger name than Chaves.
Khan will get more credit for beating Ruslan than Brook gets for beating Chaves over here.Comment
