The one thing that gives Floyd the edge in all of these fights is his conditioning. Hearns, Duran, & Leonard all lived horrible lifestyles outside the ring. You can't drink, get fat, snort coke and be ready for Floyd in 8 weeks. Floyd isn't gonna stand there & trade, you'll have to find him. It'll be just like the De La Hoya fight, close early but Floyd pulls away late.

I think Hearns gives Floyd the most problems because of his reach & jab but i still see Floyd pulling away late. When these matchups are discussed conditioning is never considered. When these guys were Floyd's age (38) they were fighting LHW or retired. Floyd is still making 147 easily. More impressive than Floyd's 48-0 record is how scorecard record. He has only lost one scorecard his whole career, the SD against Oscar. That's due to his conditioning.
As welterweight both Hearns and leonard would clearly beat floyd......leonard duran and hearns were all 15 round fighters who had stamina...all round ability, speed and power...in what world would you ever think that floyd could pull away from leonard like he did with de la hoya....de hoya was a shop worn 35 year old with slow foot speed and slow reflexes.....who couldn't pull the trigger anymore........a floyds best performance at welter would be no match for Leonard's best performace at welter......leonard in 1981....kos floyd in 2007 version...MAYWEATHER simply does not have enough fire power to beat leonard , hagler or hearns and if you think a slow maidana pushed him all the way....then leonard and hearns would have literally beat him severly

Hagler redeemed all of his losses, except to Leonard, who never re-matched him. Hell, I believe the original fight could have gone either way to be honest. True, it is difficult to retire undefeated, even against opponents you would never expect to lose to. The point is, we all know those fighters are not as good as them despite that loss. A loss doesn't say all about a fighter.

Hagler would have been fighting at a lower weight class by today's standard. They had the fight on the same day as the weigh-in back then. In fact, he could have potentially fought at Welterweight if he wanted to. The fight could very well have happened--- if not at Welterweight, even a catch weight at 150-152 would have made it possible. JMW would probably be Hagler's ideal division.

I firmly believe Hearns would have beaten Floyd. Hell, I believe Hearns was the greatest Welterweight (even though he lost to Leonard) to exist. I think I would probably put Leonard at #2, maybe.

But that's okay, because Floyd was a monster at SFW and Lightweight.
I think you need to study a bit more before future comments.....hagler was a middleweight even before he turned pro and actually fought in 1973 and won the national AAU 165 pound title and hagler was 18 years old so how the hell could he have been JM class...what an idiotic thing to say lol...some fighters genetics are built different and hagler was a natural middleweight no matter what era he was in.....solid build with massive legs and shoulders and huge reach......now in the leonard hagler fight it was a close fight...but leonard did do enough to win...hearns was a monster at welterweight.......but when Ray and Tommy squared off in 1981....leonard proved himself the superior fighter out the town of them....why because he took the best hearns punches......had him out in the 6,7,8 and broke him down when it went into the 13th round......so that makes leonard the number 1......floyd would not have beatn either hearns or leonard if they were the 1981 versions....hagler would have embarrassed floyd......floyd was a super feather for Christ sake.....let's not get carried away lol

Hearns was awesome in the first SRL fight he just ran out of time and energy in the 14th He outfought SRL early got caught mid rounds and then fought a smart fight to keep ahead on the cards. He ran out of gas in a 12 rounder he'd have won handily. To be clear That fight had more entertainment in it than all of FMJs 48 wins put together.

Mayweather, who refers to himself as 'The Best Ever' - will enter the ring on September 12th for what he promises to be the final time of his pro career. He will defend his world titles against former two-time beltholder Andre Berto at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The bout will be carried by Showtime Pay-Per-View.

                " too big " ?

                Thats the reason ?

                Really ?

Folks talk about Mayweather fighting GGG all the time, moreso recently.

I think styles are much more relevant than size.

The length of Hearns would be a real problem for Mayweather imho, especially considering the danger factor that the hitman presents. Mayweather is all about controlling the distance, it would be much harder to establish the perimeter with Hearns.

But I got Mayweather over Duran, and Leonard is a 50/50. Mayweather is more skilled than Leonard, sorry guys but he is..... he is more technically correct, slightly more well-rounded having a near perfect game, more precise/accurate..... and generally a tighter game overall.

But Leonard has better proven intangibles coupled with a style/skillset to give Mayweather all kinds of problems. Wouldn't put a dollar on that fight.

                Leonard > Mayweather all-time.

                Didn't consider Hagler.

Well 15 round fights are the true length of championship fights....hearns was broken and had to be carried back to his dressing room after the fight....all the big rounds were won by leonard and if had been a 12 round fight then I'm sure leonard would have stepped up the attack earlier......Leonard and hearns are true legends of the welters.......Emmanuel steward was actually going to stop the fight after the 7th round because hearns was seriously hurt....he showed heart by carrying on.......and the judges were off as well...because the 6th and 7th could have been 10-8 rounds......both fighters were at there peak and September 16th 1981 will always ranks as the greatest boxing match I have Ver seen because it had skill...heart..intelligence and drama to the highest order....sugar ray leonard was the superior fighter and he proved it
