The problem is nobody took the mantle by beating him. Canelo had his chance.

      Boxing will be just fine.
Problem will be all these dumb unemployed
Non child support paying tmt fans
Will still post on boards talking about the fraud.

Floyd is overated and after he retires it will be exposed more so.

Both him and Pacquaio with leave big holes in the sport, obviously.

Two legends of their era and two of the biggest draws in Boxing history. Obviously a hole will be left.

It's exciting to see the next star(s) emerge.

When he took his retirement and Pac was bashing everything in sight, did anyone even notice he was gone? People only mentioned Floyd cos they wanted to see Pac destroy him. But instead we had to see JMM do it. Floyd has never beat Pac.

I wont miss him, I will just feel he left at the wrong time with unfinished business. Should give Pac a rematch at the very least.

Thanks for reminding me that he actually was retired for a bit! I didn't care then, and I won't care now.

Farhood Has A Love Affair With Floyd; Nobody Misses Mayweather

No huge hole left, Floyd is no icon, but in the eyes of Ellerbe and himself. This isn't like losing Hagler or Leonard or Hearns... Floyd is a punk, illiterate who can't read, and hangs out in strip clubs acting the gangsta part. I can't wait for him to leave the sport. Farhood is a weasel reporting Boxing.

Too funny to read the comments left by imbeciles with no understanding of what Farhood is saying in this article. Talk about how boring Mayweather is and how much he's killing the sport all you want. Tell me this then, who else can sell 4.4 million PPV's. Average 25 asses in the seats per buy, and you have over 100,000,000 people watching a fight. Please tell me who can bring that much exposure to the sport. Or you can just keep tossing out your blanketed racist comments.

Right now, its just a cluster**** of excuses because this clown made them acceptable. There is a reason why Mares vs Santa Cruz became an ESPN instant classic. Because these guys came to fight.

Nobody will miss Floyd. He has worn out his welcome in boxing and on a lot of occasions brought more negatives then positives to the sport. Boxing is bigger then Floyd and the people saying boxing will be done without Floyd said the same thing about Oscar De La Hoya, and Tyson before him, and Chavez, and Sugar Ray, and Ali ect. History shows a new face will always emerge to carry boxing.
