Yes, Mayweather won. Yes, he won 9 rounds or so. No, it was not this pathetically easy fight where he looked great and Pac looked awful. Both looked awful. It was not easier than Alvarez. It was not easier than Guerrero. It was only easier than Mosley because of one punch by Mosley.
Also, Floyd's an idiot to try so hard to discredit what is easily the best win of his career. You beat Pacquiao. You have nothing left to prove. That's all you need to say. Stop trying to tear down your biggest win to make your last fight look better.Originally posted by BrometheusBob View PostOther than that I didn't give Floyd 9 or so rounds I completely agree with this post. Including the bit on the Castillo rematch which I believe was way more competitive than posters on this forum seem to remember. People wanted to see something that just wasn't happening in the Pac fight I guess, because they came here afterwards acting like Mayweather pitched the sickest shutout.
It was and continues to be ridiculous what fan boys of both sides are saying lately.
Some of us saw it that way and its reasonable given how the fight played out.I agree it wasn't a shutout as Manny clearly won 3 rounds IMO.
The outcome of the fight was never in doubt from very early on as Floyd nullified Manny's offense from round 1, except for round 4 where Manny did hurt him and round 6 and 9.
What most Floyd fans are saying is that the fight showed a clear, wide gap between the two. I think that is a reasonable opinion to have based on how this fight played out.

To me there is little point in talking about the fight anymore, (EDIT: Not all, but many) people have decided to believe whatever they are going to believe. You have some acting like Pac got robbed blind and others acting like Pac landed one punch the whole fight. I've never seen another fight discussed in as embarrassingly dishonest or deluded a fashion on both sides as I've seen this one discussed.

Pacman and Freddie were talking hand speed, footwork, and KO for years and he laid a historic egg. What fight were you watching? Floyd out threw AND out landed Pacman. Any nonsense about running is just that, nonsense. He was standing right in front of Pacquiao the whole night and Pacquiao couldn't hit a thing except for round 4. So much for the offensive powerhouse of Pacquiao... For all the talk about Pacman being able to challenge Floyd he was just flat and looked like an infant trying to solve a rubik's cube. It was easily one of Floyd's easiest fights.

I won't say most but many people, including posters in this thread, have said things like 118-110 or wider are the only accurate cards and everyone else is a nut hugger. That's an example of being deluded about the success that Mayweather had in the fight. (And he there was success, I'm not ignoring that completely) The posters that discuss things reasonably, even if they disagree with my opinion, I don't really have a problem with. It's the asinine **** that some posters seem to basically be copy and pasting into every May/Pac thread, about a master class or about a conspiracy theory, that annoys me.
I really can't wait till Cotto/Canelo so that this forum will hopefully have more active non-Mayweather threads.

Floyd Waited 6 Yrs To Catch Pacquiao Past His Prime
He waited until Mosley was 40, and well past his prime. He made Cotto wait more than ten years and too many wars to fight. Wouldn't fight Sergio Martinez in his prime at 160, as Leonard, Hearns and Duran all challnged Hagler. Floyd is a weasel; he's strategic about WHO he fights and WHEN. Gutless.
