Yes, Mayweather won. Yes, he won 9 rounds or so. No, it was not this pathetically easy fight where he looked great and Pac looked awful. Both looked awful. It was not easier than Alvarez. It was not easier than Guerrero. It was only easier than Mosley because of one punch by Mosley.

Also, Floyd's an idiot to try so hard to discredit what is easily the best win of his career. You beat Pacquiao. You have nothing left to prove. That's all you need to say. Stop trying to tear down your biggest win to make your last fight look better.
    8 rounds to 4!
But I believe Floyd lost the first Castillo fight! Compubox and the fans in attendance know Floyd lost the first Castillo fight!

Same people *****ing about the fight being 5-6 years late were the same ones who yapped about Floyd being scared of losing to Manny even after Manny got put to sleep against Marquez, yet as soon as they fought, those same fans ran with the usual excuse of Manny not being at his best. 5-6 years ago, Floyd was 33-32 years old and would've been stronger and sharper then than he is now at age 38.

Floyd doesnt "fight" you. He sits back and focuses on nullifying his opponents and in return fires off one and done punches in order to score points.

Critics can say that Pac didnt sell out in order to make it exciting but I'll tell you, Pac put forth more of an offensive effort than Floyd did in that fight. He fired off combos when he could and was the one coming forward the entire fight. It's hard to be offensively effective and impressive when your opponent is 100% focused on killing any action by hugging, headlocking and evading in order to avoid engaging.

I scored the fight 7-5 for Floyd. It was far from this whitewash that his fans are claiming it was. There were many rounds that could have gone either way but it seems as if they judges gave all the close rounds to Floyd by default.

Are people still seriously saying Floyd was the reason they didn't fight years ago? You all must be plain blind after the shenanigans Pac's team pulled after they fought in May. It's obvious that Pac's team and Pac are full of crap, that shoulder injury revelation in the post fight press conference was a total and complete joke. You have Pacquiao not even sure where he was injured and Arum whispering into his and his trainer's ears to keep their story straight. On top of that, you have their corner not once mentioning a shoulder injury during the fight, that's simply impossible if he had a serious injury.

Anyone who could watch that and still think Pacquaio and his team have any credibility is a fool. Compound this with the salt water cure for Pacquiao's shoulder and the fact that the guy is likely fighting later this year and there's no way you can believe Pacquaio's version of events 5 or 6 years ago.

He wasn't shot but let's not pretend he had the same aura as he did after Hatton and Cotto either.

I'm looking forward to the days when these forums have things to discuss that aren't related to Mayweather.

It was not even a close fight and it was all Pacman's fault. You have to hold people accountable for their rhetoric. Pacman and Freddie were talking hand speed, footwork, and KO for years and he laid a historic egg. What fight were you watching? Floyd out threw AND out landed Pacman. Any nonsense about running is just that, nonsense. He was standing right in front of Pacquiao the whole night and Pacquiao couldn't hit a thing except for round 4. So much for the offensive powerhouse of Pacquiao... For all the talk about Pacman being able to challenge Floyd he was just flat and looked like an infant trying to solve a rubik's cube. It was easily one of Floyd's easiest fights.

Other than that I didn't give Floyd 9 or so rounds I completely agree with this post. Including the bit on the Castillo rematch which I believe was way more competitive than posters on this forum seem to remember. People wanted to see something that just wasn't happening in the Pac fight I guess, because they came here afterwards acting like Mayweather pitched the sickest shutout.

It was and continues to be ridiculous what fan boys of both sides are saying.

                    Good post.

Manny, Bob and Roach knew Manny would never beat Floyd so they made sure to wait until Manny and Bob's take was maximized. Manny fans/Floyd haters Rather than call Manny out for waiting, they choose to negatively exaggerate where he was as a fighter because they foolishly picked Manny to win by KO. Since he lost clearly they are doing anything they can to take away from the victory by calling Manny shot or saying he was done after the JMM KO.

Manny fans and those that don't like Floyd (and anointed Manny the guy to beat him) know Manny had plenty of chances to fight Floyd when he was prime but Manny walked away in 2009, got stitches he didn't need before Floyd went to jail, then took on JMM a 4th time instead of taking the $40 mil (smart business move as he made 3 times as much).

Manny, just like shane and ODH, controlled when they fought Floyd. ODH could've brought Floyd up from 135 (like he did Manny) but saw the risk and didn't want it. Shane could've fought Floyd when he was still fresh and thriving, but he had a toothache. Manny, well see above.

It would be nice if fans admitted this.

Like the guy above you who claims Pac only landed punches in round 4.
