Mayweather is the best of this generation. I had him slightly ahead of Pacquiao before they fought in may; the result tipped the scales firmly in his favour.

- 2000-2010 BWAA and ring magazine fighter of the decade (floyd will never be a fighter of any decade because he's a coward)
- 3 times fighter of the year same amount as ali (floyd only won this award twice)
- first 4 weight lineal champion
- 8 weight world champion (floyd has only won 5 belts in 5 weight classes)
- exciting wins over future hof'ers and fellow ATGs: barrera, morales, and marquez, etc.
- THE MOST EXCITING FIGHTER OF THIS ERA (floyd = most boring fighter of this era)
-Manny has won the boxing writers award for fighter of the year more but Floyd has won the ESPY award (which is decided by the fans not the writers) way more than Manny has.
-Barrerra and Morales were past their prime when Manny fought them. You can't use one standard for Floyd and another standard for Manny. And Morales still kicked Manny's ass in the first fight despite being past it.
-And both guys were past their prime when they fought each other yet Floyd didn't only beat Manny he also beat the guy who put Manny to sleep just a handful of fights ago.

-and espy hahahahahahahahahahahaha give me a break. winning ring fighter of the year is far more prestigious in boxing than winning an espy. winning an espy is like winning teen choice award. who gives a poop. truth is manny is a 3 time fighter of the year which is equal to the amount that ali earned.
- barrera wasn't that far from past his prime. and manny was moving up to featherweight for the 2nd time in his career. manny was the HUUUGGGE underdog in his fight against barrera, etc. etc. whens the last time floyd has been a huge underdog in a fight????? and morales didn't kick manny's butt hahahahahahahaha try actually watching the fight. judges scored it 7-5 morales and i remember scoring it the same. and manny avenged this loss by KO less than a year later.
- and manny was FARRRRRR more past his prime. how is manny just as past prime as floyd is????? when manny has been a pro much longer than floyd (since 16), has been through farrr more wars and fights than floyd, was KO'ed badly against marquez 3 fights prior to fighting floyd, etc. etc. to even say that manny isn't far worse is a joke. again, give me a break. also the marquez that KO'ed manny was far better conditioned than the marquez that floyd fight. easily. marquez was moving up to welterweight for the VERY FIRST TIME IN HIS CAREER when he fought floyd, and he was conditioning himself.
THE TRUTH IS MANNY'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS ECLIPSES FLOYD'S. NO DEBATE.Last edited by Divine Hammer; 08-20-2015, 04:09 PM.

The last time Floyd was an underdog was against Diego Corrales in a fight where he shut Corrales down. Floyd hasn't been the underdog because he is seen as so much better than the opposition. Being the favorite doesn't mean you will win, being the favorite just means people believe you will win.
Manny turned pro only a year before Floyd. He gets in more wars because his defense isn't as good as Floyd's. He's been in more wars, been KO'd three times, has been knocked down several times, and has still fought less world champions than Mayweather. Yet somehow he is greater than Mayweather? How does that make any sense?
Even when this fight was first being talked about, Manny had already suffered two KO losses, a loss to Morales, and two questionable performances against Marquez. There is no guarantee he would have done any better if they had fought five years ago. Floyd was faster and sharper five years ago than he is today.Last edited by Johnwoo8686; 08-20-2015, 04:25 PM.

1998 - Ring Magazine fighter of the year
2007 - BWAA fighter of the year and Ring Magazine fighter of the year
2013 - BWAA fighter of the year
I think he's the only guy to win Fighter Of The Year in 3 different decades also.

Paquiao is greater. Duran lost to all the guys on the Fab 4 and is still considered greater than most of them.

BWAA and ring each have floyd only winning fighter of the year twice. manny without a doubt won it 3 times according to BWAA and ring.
the truth still remains:
- 2000-2010 BWAA and ring fighter of the decade
- 3 times BWAA and ring fighter of the year
- first 4 weight lineal champ
- first and only 8 weight or 7 weight world champion
- wins over a bunch of future hof'ers and atgs
- the most exciting and beloved fighter of his eraLast edited by Divine Hammer; 08-20-2015, 05:07 PM.
