I disagree. There is plenty of talent in boxing, the problem is its spread to thin under the many promoters & power brokers in boxing.
The UFC has a smaller roster (500ish, 600ish), but they have 80%+ of the top 20 guys in each division in MMA. There are supposedly 19,000 boxers active. If you took the top 500-600 (you might need more cuz boxing has more divisions than MMA) & put them under one regime you could pop off the best fighting the best just like the UFC I have zero doubt. Too many chiefs not enough indians in boxing & thats hurting the sport.Comment

The problem we currently have is also the emphasis on undefeated records. There was too much put into trying to maintain an undefeated record that fighters and their promoters steer away from some potential fights.I disagree. Thats cool but i dont think so at all. Also UFC fans accept that a fighter can be 10-4 6KO's and getting title shot but in boxing that wont fly.I disagree. There is plenty of talent in boxing, the problem is its spread to thin under the many promoters & power brokers in boxing.

But i do agree 1 umbrella organization to govern the sport. We will get better fights but we will get the showcase/build up fights in-between still. Like we are now.Comment

They're not getting KO'd (well 2 out of 3). Even if they do, as long as they put in a good showing he's good. Remember, he didn't even have Lemieux at the start of the year.
Everyone loves exciting fights, in those fights there are no losers because fans want to see them again.
Latino fans love Matthysse, and this is his crowning glory.GB doing a ok job at surviving
When did Matthysse / Postol become a good anticipated fight this is probably like the 20-30th most intriguing/ anticipated fight this year, Nothing special. Postol fought like twice in 2 years against Aydin and against the 321st ranked 140lber. People only know or care about Postol because he became Garcias Mando.
Good (not great) match-up against an undefeated guy.Comment

Another NSB accounting expert & NSB startup business expert. Only Haymon & whoever is doing Haymon's books know how sustainable or unsustainable this whole PBC thing is.
I must admit I'd love to see the balance sheet of the PBC shows to see the money whats coming in & whats going out cuz Haymon's obviously shown himself to help Mayweather with maximizing income so I'm POSITIVE he's doing some next level **** with this too.Comment

Boxing fans used to accept less sterling records too. This new era of 0's hasn't been the reality forever. I think if there was an elite league in boxing the guys in that league could have lesser records than guys have now cuz fighting in that league would mean that a fighter is of a certain talent level just to be there so being 7-3 in that league would be superior than 10-0 out of it.Thats cool but i dont think so at all. Everybody has to fight who HBO tells them to. There are only so many dates and dollars in the budget and Oscar still has enough talent to still get his guys on. And the same can be said about all promotional companies.
-K2 has Wlad and GGG on TV only.
-Top Rank is a little thin right now and couldn't get HBO to put up enough money for Bradley/Rios. How many Top Rank fights are even on the boxing schedule right now? Crawford basically took a year off, Rios can't land a fight, Bradley just had a soft touch and Lomachenko will have a problem landing an opponent since all of the beltholders (Russell & Selby) are with PBC.
-PBC is buying their TV time right now in hopes of bringing in enough interest from advertisers to land them a TV deal. Too early to say whether this venture will be successful.
-Roc Nation has just Cotto and Ward and are struggling to get Ward TV dates
As long as Oscar has Canelo he will be fine. Everybody from all promoters from 147-160 want that fight.Comment

Well Lemieux is about to get bombed out, so that revival is short lived. Matthysse-Crawford is the way Oscar should go if he's serious about making the best fights.Comment
