That is the same for every other promoter, besides Haymon. Still small promotions like K2 and Main Events managed to build new stars - GGG and Kovalev. GBP has some quality fighters and they know what is needed to build stars. On the other hand, Haymon has plenty of air time and a legion of fighters, but no fighter has became a star under his banner yet, while some stars under his guidance were demoted to bums and lost any credibility (Chavez Jr., Broner). I believe that it is only a matter of time when the most talented fighters from Haymon stable would realize that they are wasting their time and potential not getting anywhere in a meaningless fights and would want to jump ship and possibly return to GBP.

Oscar is continuing to make fights the fans want to see even with his limited roaster of fighters. On the other hand, however, the proclaimed saviour of boxing is giving us mismatch after mismatch.

How many fighters has Haymon produced from scratch? Perhaps GBP is in a rough spot as of right now in terms of talent, but I'm sure a few of their up and comers will be built up to something worthwhile.

most of the dudes that are in haymon's stable didn't even start with Oscar.

            alexander,porter,khan,berto,guerrero etc.

Oscar didn't start from scratch with those dudes either. he just brought them over to gbp.

so I don't know what makes you so sure that Oscar can get gbp back to where it was

-K2 has Wlad and GGG on TV only.

-Top Rank is a little thin right now and couldn't get HBO to put up enough money for Bradley/Rios. How many Top Rank fights are even on the boxing schedule right now? Crawford basically took a year off, Rios can't land a fight, Bradley just had a soft touch and Lomachenko will have a problem landing an opponent since all of the beltholders (Russell & Selby) are with PBC.

-PBC is buying their TV time right now in hopes of bringing in enough interest from advertisers to land them a TV deal. Too early to say whether this venture will be successful.

-Roc Nation has just Cotto and Ward and are struggling to get Ward TV dates

As long as Oscar has Canelo he will be fine. Everybody from all promoters from 147-160 want that fight.

if canelo loses. its over for Oscar.

with Schaefer gbp were the number 1 promotion in boxing.
without Schaefer, gbp cant do any fights without top rank.

gbp doesn't even have opponents for canelo and matthysse.
and im not talking about no tuerano Johnson, I mean real opponents, that move the boxing needle.

And he still has 3 HBO dates while Top Rank couldn't even squeeze Bradley vs Rios into the budget? Why is that? Because he's makiy intriguing fights.

They have HBO which has been building stars for multiple decades.

No it's not. Canelo already lost once, many think he's lost twice and he's still a draw. Cotto got battered twice and lost to Austin Trout and he's still headlining ppvs.

He doesn't need opponents for Canelo. Everybody wants to fight him and will flock towards his weight neighborhood once Floyd retires. Porter, Bradley, Thurman and everybody on Haymon's roster from 147-160 would jump at that fight.

Boxing is driven by stars and right now, Oscar has the money guy.

                  GBP = Canelo Alvarez.

Without Cinnabon GB would've folded during the take over. Alvarez gives GB leverage in the same way (to a smaller scale) as Mayweather gave Haymon leverage. This is a sport based on stars.

the one thing people overlook in their hate for pbc is its going to make hbo gbp top rank main events any other network/promoter in boxing to raise their game. thats the one thing people are not realizing. its going to not only make boxing better because pbc gives us more fights to watch but its also going to make the other side of the game better as well. thats the one key thing peoploe are overlooking that its going to make boxing better all around cause these guys are going to be competing for the brass ring on top of the pyramid of boxing

oscar is the REAL hero of boxing, not haymon. when will people wake up????? haymon is the one destroying this sport!!!!!!!! oscar trying his best to make the BEST matchups while haymon devil worshipper is making a ton of mediocre/irrelevant fights.

people need to get a clue. it seems like so many delusional freaks support al scum of the earth haymon.
