I've read that article and nowhere does it say all of the $12 million + $10 million is going to Cotto...I don't get where the $22 million is coming from. Am I missing something here?

Cotto takes home over 10 million in guranteed money, the 12 million mandaly bay gave to get the fight and a 60-40 split of the purse. If they hit the mark on ppv Cotto gets 30 million

The combination of the availability of Mandalay Bay, the MGM still being part of the event at its sister property and Golden Boy agreeing to guarantee Roc Nation the same revenue as it would have gotten from the bigger offer from Madison Square Garden got the site deal done.

He gave it up. Why people are hung up on this I don't know it's actually old news. He gave up the money to have the fight in Vegas, that's why Cotto is getting paid.

I don't think GBP has the same horses at the negotiating table that they used to have.

It's not that though. Cotto has leverage over everyone because he has no problem just saying no and not fighting. Canelo is young and wants the big fights and wants to be active and cotto knows that.

That I knew but the other article(spanish one) just says Mandalay could possibly pay up to $12 million for Cotto's fight it never says anything about Cotto keeping all that $12 million plus another $10 million guaranteed
