Looks like Canelo got brutalised at the negotiating table. Cotto is one of the sport's draws but I don't think he eclipses Canelo at this stage.

Props to Canelo for taking the fight. It's not like the pay off for winning will be great; he'll have GGG breathing down his neck.

He gave it up. Why people are hung up on this I don't know it's actually old news. He gave up the money to have the fight in Vegas, that's why Cotto is getting paid.

Thats not how that reads to me. It sounds like if MSG was offering $15M with both sides getting 50/50 ($7.5M each) than of the $12M Vegas offer Cotto would get $7.5M & Canelo $4.5M. There is no way any promoter worth a damn is giving the whole site fee away. That'd be horrible business.

Cotto is getting that 6 million, PLUS the 7 million he would have got at MSG. Cotto had all the leverage, the only reason that happened is because Canelo refused to fight in NY and that's what it took to get the fight done. They walked away the first time, they weren't about to do it again and instead of fight in NY they simply took less money.

If your talking strictly from a boxing standpoint no way he is worth 22 million lol. Those numbers are only for the May Pac Oscars and Wlads of the world. Glorified journeyman Cotto only got it because he stood firm on NY and he knows hes getting his **** pushed in come Nov 21.
