Assuming they are splitting 50/50 with Mandalay Bay, and it was 12 as you say. that means they are getting 6 million each right?

Cotto is getting that 6 million, PLUS the 7 million he would have got at MSG. Cotto had all the leverage, the only reason that happened is because Canelo refused to fight in NY and that's what it took to get the fight done. They walked away the first time, they weren't about to do it again and instead of fight in NY they simply took less money.

Sounds like the known numbers we are dealing with at least allegedly are $10M for Cotto, $6.5M for Canelo & there is a $12M site fee.

If Canelo/Oscar are cool giving Cotto w/e he woulda got from the MSG offer to fight in Vegas that sounds like they are giving up money already cuz Canelo is taking less since there is less money in the Vegas offer, but to think they are giving up the full $12M is crazy.

Read what you quoted again. Canelo's side agreed to let Cotto have the same amount he would have made in the MSG offer. Doesn't say anything about Cotto getting the full MSG site fee or the full Vegas site fee. Cotto would have only gotten a cut of the MSG offer. They agreed to give Cotto the same amout of a lesser site offer (ie Canelo gets less, Cotto gets the same)
