Cotto is only making a lot more because of the casino purse being all his, otherwise it's about a 60/40 split. Which... well, makes sense considering Oscar more than anyone needed this fight to be done, he didn't have much leverage.

$6.5mill is a lot, but this fight for Alvarez was worth so much more. This gives me doubts about a rematch now. After Alvarez beats Cotto, no way will he accept that ratio again unless it's in his favor. And I doubt Cotto agrees to a rematch for less than he made the first time around.

Either way kudos to Alvarez for making it happen and giving in to the diva. He might as well go out and destroy Cotto rather than worry about preserving him for a 2nd fight.
