Would Floyd be the GOAT?

Fighting and beating GGG at 154 wouldn't make him the goat AT ALL. Now if he fought and beat GGG at 160 for the middleweight title he would have an honest claim to being the goat. Beating GGG at 154 is not the issue for being the goat for Floyd. Its moving up to middleweight(160) and doing the impossible and beating the guy everyone universally recognizes as the best middleweight right now and that's GGG. And IMO I truly whole heartly feel Floyd has a great shot at winning. Like I said beating GGG at 154 is not the issue for me for making Floyd the goat. But moving up to Midddlweight and winning the title against the best middleweight and making history is what matters if he truly and honestly wants to be in the talks for being the GOAT.

No. A boxer's greatness is determined by his entire fighting prime, not by one big win. Buster Douglas KOed a prime Tyson but he is not on anybody's all time great list because his overall record is not that good. Ralph Jones easily beat a near prime Sugar Ray Robinson but few fans today ever heard of him. If the 38 year old, well past prime Mayweather is not already the GOAT then how would a win over GGG suddenly make him the GOAT????? Actually I think GGG would knock him out at 154lbs. and Mayweather would never agree to fight GGG at 154 in the first place. He has already been offered this fight and said no.

Floyd has been accused of not taking risks, so if he fought GGG you couldn't accuse him of not ever haven taken a risk. So lets not even think about if Floyd could beat GGG at middleweight, just taking the fight is something Floyd can boast of.
And for the Floyd fans who keep saying who has he beat? Who had canelo beat when Floyd fought him? He fought Trout, but struggled. GGG hasn't struggled with anyone and hed wipe out Trout like he has everyone else.
So Floyd fans shouldn't make excuses again. Don't say GGG is nothing in the hope to get people to think that Floyd would gain nothing from fighting him! Of course he would gain from fighting and beating GGG.
Even if he clinched and ran the whole fight he would get credit, so long as his hand is raised in victory at the end. Didn't get credit for doing that against Pac, but that's because Pac is smaller and got ko'ed by JMM. And considering Floyd said he was going to ko Pac.Last edited by hugh grant; 08-12-2015, 07:52 PM.

Castillo - Castillo win 1 lose 1
Mosley - Over the hill
Hernendez - Ok
Hatton - Hatton was never effective at 147lbs
Judah - Really?
Actually, from a Floyd fan perspective, I'd probably switch Judah with Marquez and then I will say,
Marquez - Was not yet effective at 147lbs and even still, Jr. didn't make contracted weight for this fight.
