If Ali had just blown through every fighter he had fought he'd be considered the consensus number 1 fight of all time. You read any reputable Atg list of fighters and Ali is never number 1. The highest is maybe 3 and 5. Which is where he belongs because of the era and level of competition he competed in.
In Floyds era it's not even close to being the best era of all time. The level of opposition isn't the same as in years past. And the number of champions make being a champion watered down. It's just that's the issue Floyd has when people rank him. Considering the level of competition and when he fought the top guys hurts Floyds. So IMO 20th of all time for Floyd is very good considering all things.
