This right here, if you know a bit about psychology you understand what Ali did, I mean why is Ali called The Greatest? you know why? because he called himself the greatest so many times that people started to repeat it, the public got manipulated by Ali himself to call him the greatest and they didn't even realize it.

I'm pretty sure that list was picked to ruffle some feathers.
It's worse than some of the lists that get posted on here from time to time.

His list shouldn't be condemned for naming himself or for listing Ali #5 but for not listing SRR anywhere in the top 5. com'on now, if any one of yous left out SRR from your top 5 and I'd laugh you right off this forum.

If you asked every boxing historian in the world who their top 5 is Ali would be top 2 in many peoples lists. But also he would be no5 or below in manys also I have no doubt about that.

I don't think anyone would have Floyd no1 though. That's all Floyd did wrong here. He probably don't know his boxing history is the only explanation.

He was only the greatest at saying he was the greatest-everything else is media hype and over-exaggerated B.S.

He lost to prime Frazier coming off of a 3 year exile and no longer being in his prime. Went on the beat Frazier twice. Ali went through possibly the 2 toughest eras in HW history. Once while in his prime and the next past his prime and still managed to hold the title.

You bringing up the Spinks fight just doesn't make sense. Ali had signs of the early onset of Parkinson's by that point.

Floyd is one insecure delusional guy. Floyd can only dream of being half even a quarter of the man Ali was.

To say Ali is only admired and great because of what he stood for is straight up dumb. Floyd can only dream of taking on the level of competition Ali took on.

Maybe Floyd has beaten more champions but I like to say he beat more title holders instead of world champions. In the day and age of now where there is more weight divisions and four recognized champs in each divisions, having the claim of beating more champs has no weight at all. It's really meaningless.

Floyd publisist needs to sow his mouth shut. Floyd your mouth isn't going to make people think you are as great as you think you are. Just retire and shut up.

Truly knowledgable fans know where you stand on the atg list. And it's no where near number 1. It's 20th at best. Which is great IMO.

Ali maybe had the greatest career of all time, but I agree he wasn't the greatest fighter. He lost way too many fights (including the gift victories against Norton, Young, et al.) Ranking him #5 or so makes sense.

I always notice that Floyd leaves out Sugar Ray Leonard whenever he talks about his favorite fighters of all time. Probably for personal reasons, including his dad's loss to Leonard.

I could never leave out Leonard in my top 5, but that's me.
