  • I don't see how khan/brook can get any bigger.

Its not like the fight will be on ppv and the fight would be in the uk

khan/brook happens now its a 10 million pot,,, if brook beats a maqruez or maidana type guy, it becomes a 15 million pot....

What would have been bigger-- witter/hatton or hatton/khan...... obviously it would be hatton/khan because they BOTH had huge profiles globally, while witter toiled away in obscurity even though he was one of the best 140 guys around..
But you could argue that for literally any fight. It's getting ridiculous now.

Khan was trying to use Mayweather-Pacquiao as an example and even bandied around the figure of 100million.

So are you going to continue to make excuses for Khan until it reaches that figure?

His name is already up there in the lights....all of the lights

Brook needs to build off that Porter win, but he hasnt added more names to that list

I know ur excuse is "but nobody wants to fight Brook", well hey tough luck, thats life. He had a chance to fight Devon, and Bradley and be a superstar like Khan, headlining Vegas with millions in the bank, but he backed out of those fights

The Porter win will not keep All Of The Lights on...

You just keep repeating "bigger" without defining what that actually means.

You can argue ad nauseam that any fight could be bigger. It "could be bigger" in 2017, 2018, 2019....just a pointless endless argument.

It's as big as it could be in the UK which is where it matters for this fight.
Will someone explain to Ali that there's a few people that live...just slightly outside of America

Yep do people want all the fights to be 5 years later like floyd/manny?

His point would make sense if it was a Brit facing an American.

Brook definitely has to grow his profile in America to make fights against the likes of Garcia, Thurman and Bradley viable.

But Khan is an all UK fight....

Tell me about it. Brook-Khan generates more money than any other welterweight fight not including Mayweather or Pacquaio.

So if that fight isn't big enough then what fight is?

I know people who "watch" boxing who haven't even seen Brook fight before. His name holds absolutely no weight in the US. Probably never will unless he unseats Khan next year, but it'd have to be at Wembley, bigger stage for them, more press overseas. It wouldn't be half as big here, what Americans care about their domestic rivalry in the UK?

It would be big among people who are familiar with Brook, but most American's aren't, even after his win against Porter, because Porter isn't that big in the states either.
Even as a IBF title holder, Brooks career is built around Khan, and what Khan does, it is kind of sad

Brook needs to make his own path, if Khan isnt willing to sacrifice his.

There is more than enough room for Brook to make a name for himself, but until he gets in the ring with some worthy recognizable names, he will continue to be a unknown outside of Sheffield

Absolutely agree......Ali seems to think that nothing can happen without American approval....the lad needs to get himself a passport and hop on one of those kind of bird like thing's or has he heard from Khan about the fight being worth £100 million ..it's a tough one this!

                    • The longer they leave it, the more Khan fights, and may struggle with, light hitting fighters diminishing the Khan name further

In the UK, the fight is probably the biggest its gonna be
