And that still doesn't explain why Brook would need to raise his profile abroad when virtually all the money for the fight comes from the UK?

Who is a bigger name---- Haye or brook.... Its obviously haye and its because he fought a bunch of names that people outside of the UK were familiar with

And all the money is coming from the UK because its not a big global fight, hence why brook should fight a few names to raise his profile and make the fight bigger....

I actually agree that khan is the one that is most likely to take an L before they fight..

My whole point in response to the thread is that if brook fought more well known names, it would make the fight even bigger globally.. I don't see how that can't be understood
Bigger globally in what sense though? American TV would show the fight now. HBO showed Froch-Groves II and Groves was completely unknown. Far less known than Brook who took the title on US soil from a Yank. Khan is also bigger in the US than Froch.

So you're really saying nothing much at all.

No...all the money is in the UK because it's a fight between 2 Brits on British soil....how can this not be understood? Brits will be buying the tickets and the PPVs.

Are you suggesting they fight in America? I don't really get why America even matters to this fight.

Don't get me wrong,,, its a big fight, but on the level of calzaghe/kessler or hate/chisora.... If brook had a few more recognizable names on his ledger i think it would be as big as wlad/haye....

A win over porter is better than a win over provodnikov

Brook beating porter was more impressive than Algieri beating Ruslan

Why do you keep harping on Wlad/Haye? The only reason that might have been slightly bigger in the US is because it was for the unified Heavyweight championship which has a long history of being the most coveted prize in sports in America.

It had nothing to do with Haye being huge in America....because he wasn't. The money for the fight was generate from the UK and Europe.

This fight has the potential to be a globally huge fight.. Right now its a huge domestic fight, but it could be much bigger...

You don't think the fight would be even bigger had brook scored wins over a marquez or a rios...

Im not trying to make excuses for khan, its just simple business.. say they schedule the fight spring 2016,,, Brook from the porter fight till then, should be fighting "name" guys to raise his profile outside of the UK.. It will make the event that much bigger..
Since the porter fight, khan should have twisted in the wind trying to land floyd, and in the meantime brook should have done a golovkin and stayed busy fighting guys with some sort of name recognition like ggg did with macklin, geale, murray, stevens, etc

Con, just try to beat Brook to make YOUR name bigger. Then you maybe youl'll be able to get big fights. Imagine if Floyd said this about Canelo (which he certainly could have). They'd say he was ducking. What about you CON?

You keep saying that but you don't even explain what it means. Oh it will be bigger globally. Globally it will be bigger. What does that even mean?

They'll still be 2 Brits fighting in Britain with virtually all the money coming from the UK.

                      Why does America matter?
