He was upgraded to Super WBA (the real WBA middleweight belt) in 2014. Defended it 4 times: Daniel Geale, Marco Antonio Rubio (won interim WBC), Martin Murray, Willie Monroe Jr.
His 15th consecutive WBA defense is vs Lemieux. Hopkins' record is 19 consecutive defenses of the IBF belt.
The WBA dual belt system is a joke.

When Hagler and co fought, fighters weren't pink clock wearing divas who are holding belts hostage and are running from the real champ. GGG probably most feared MW ever, you cannot force people to fight him. If he beats Lemieux, Canelo and Lee by next year, Floyd hopefully retires then GGG he will be on top of the p4p list.

They are solid B level guys and both are world class.
And GGG ABSOLUTELY PULVERIZED THEM.

Floyd -
Pacquiao
Miguel Cotto
Oscar De La Hoya (maybe, questionable at the time he fought him)
And that's it...
Ward, he hasn't fought any A level guys, you wont try and lie to me and say that Froch and Kessler are A level will you?

Okay, riddle me this how did they become A+ tell me who they beat, to be an A+ fighter who did they beat...
Froch has beat which guy who was an A+ fighter and on the record beating a washed up version of Kessler doesn't count and Bute certainly wasn't ever near that A level.
Please, name the guys I'm looking forward to hear it.

The fact is you can make your own personal little agenda with anything, when you dissect things further you can suit anything to your own 'thinking' the only thing that seems to make people even more mad is when you turn it around and put that same type of thinking on their favourite fighter.
Has Carl Froch beat any A+ fighter when you think about it deep down, really has he and then If he hasn't what is the criteria to being an "A+ fighter"?
He's fought everyone he possibly could though and when he came up against slick fighters he often lost or was gifted a decision in his favour aka Andre Dirrell and the first Groves fight yet for some reason he seems safe and out of the criticism.
What it boils down to is bias, you give others credit when it favours whoever you're rooting for to hype their name up a very easy thing to do which has been done so many times before in the past.
