The eye test tells me Ward or nobody. I don't think Stevenson has the skill to do so and Beterbiev not yet, but since he allegedly had Kovalev's number in the amateurs I won't count him out. He could be what Vernon Forrest was to Shane Mosley.
Who do you see dethroning King Kovalev?

Pascal landed some of the biggest shots I've seen on Kovalev and Kovy ate them with pretty much no problem.Comment

I'd have Kovalev favoured against every other Light Heavyweight out there today.
He's not unbeatable though. Stevenson and Beterbiev can both crack, if they land a clean hard shot at the right time then anything is possible. We all know Ward's talent level, if he can negate Kovalev's size and power advantage and go to work, he's got a very good chance as well.Comment

During the build up to Kovalev/BHop I got a lot of laughs reading posts by Kev and many others here, talking about how BHop was gonna school the crude, face-first brawler Kovalev. Hilarious stuff that was.
Lucky punches aside, I don't see anyone beating Krusher right now. Beterbiev might be capable of doing it in a year or 2, but is too green as a pro at the moment.
Ward wouldn't have a prayer vs Kovalev. The difference in power between them is just too great. Kovelev is bigger than Ward and P4P one of the hardest punchers I've ever seen. Ward couldn't crack an egg with his Sunday punch.Comment

lots of supremely talented lhw prospects around at the moment - mekhontskev, gvozdyk and bivol, to name arguably the three most prominent (along with beterbiev). in a couple of years lhw is going to be the deepest division in boxingComment
