Oh **** I forgot about Ward being in play apparently. Personally I don't see that fight happening. I tend to think Ward sticks to 168 for awhile, but yea I'd throw Ward as a possible dethroner of Kov if that fight were to be made.

but ward don't want it. he wants to unify his division in huge ppv fights first like ggg. oh wait he's not doing a damn thing in his own division but calling out smaller fighters.

        Ward......

However - as Kovalev will be the bigger man(probably) and he isn't going to put up with the clinching so he'll fight just as rough to counter Wards inside game.

Frustration is the key here. imo

            • Stevenson could with a couple of those woopy left hands coming out of nowhere... He's also a heavy body puncher and has more skills than most here think ...

            • Beterbiev would if that fight happens, even soon... He's fitted perfectly for Kovalev's style... An unmovable wall of terror, superb inside boxing skills and two very big hands... Kovalev would beg for mercy before the 5th round...

I don't see anybody else in a near future because Ward won't happen...

The Ward fight is getting closer but I can't see him dethroning King Kovalev. I see this boy dominating for awhile. Once Beterbiev gets more seasoned, I'd give a chance but a slim one at that.

Can you name me some fighter in his entire resume who isn't complete bum and who got Andre Ward looking bad? I can't even remember one single round that was lost by Ward in his best fights, really. He makes his opponents looking like bums, even guys like Froch and that's sad because Barrera might have a great future in boxing, he's of the same caliber as guys like Beterbiev, Gvozdyk, Bivol, Shabransky and others

I almost can't see no way of Kovalev winning his fight with Ward. It's a 70/30 fight in favor of Andre for me. Remember that Sergey might be the hardest hitter at LHW, but he doesn't have that one punch KO power like Adonis, so one punch wouldn't be enough to stop Ward, Kovalev will have to land the combinations on him and we know that Ward is too fast to be an easy target

                    only beterbiev has a chance.

if Gvozdyk has a good chin then maybe he has a chance...

Someone in the cruiserweight could do it I am sure.
