That showcase turned out to be great for boxing.

Hopefully more people are intrigued by Kovalev when he faces better opponents.

The co-fight wasnt strong at all. It was a "mismatch", "cherrypick" gone wrong but we as the fans benefitted. Stop acting like you knew but this is why i say dont judge the fights till they happen. And look from the horrible decision we may have a new player in the game (Gonzales)

I am a Kovalev fan and I definitely didn't think this was going to hit the mil mark. This fight was viwed more than some PBC fights which is crazy but great for Kovalev.

Gonzalez def surprised many; went from a basically an unknown in the LH div to someone who probably will pose problems to anyone.

You are missing my point never said it was a strong fight on paper. I'm saying the first fight was great and generated a ton of buzz on twitter and online and I'm sure many people who didn't intend to watch the fight tuned in because of it and stayed on to see the Kovalev fight. I know for a fact I told a few buddies damn turn on HBO these cats are throwing bombs and I wouldn't of done that if not for how good the fight was. An action packed opening fight helped the main event.
