Im just want some of you guys to admit, you expect more out of Mayweather because he has been and will always be a better fighter than Manny and there is a double standard

if he fought Algeiri or Rios anytime in the last 5 years he would have got crucified

people are gonna criticize what ever Mayweather has done....it has been proven on a daily on this website and the media.....he'll get his just due after he retires like Larry Holmes and Pernell Whitaker

people are acting like Berto is a scrub and he has been in exciting fights, only has 3 losses and defended his title 5 times

Berto would beat the crap out of Rios and Algieri, he beat guys better than them both and has fought better guys....they cant compete at welterweight
Are you kidding me? I could care less what pacquiao has done. I'm not a hugger to just one fighter. Im a fan whose loyalties are to boxing. But ever since this fight has been announced(berto-Floyd) all his fanboys have been screaming "well he deserves a soft touch and well, well, manny had soft touches in Rios and Algierie".

All im saying is if you are a true fan of Floyd wouldn't you want him to put to shame what Pacquiao or others did competition wise. That's all I'm saying.

Plus you seem to forget when pacquiao fought Rios he was coming off having his lights turned out by Marquez and there were huge legitimate questions if he totally lost it. It wasnt like he had just come off some major win and said well i deserve a soft touch now. So the rios fight was to gauge where he was at. Plus imo he didn't look all that great in that fight. Algierie(who was coming off his huge win vs Provo) was just a set up safe fight for manny because Arum was looking to cash him out. As he just did vs Floyd.

Mayweather has been in the media and on HBO before anyone even knew who Manny Pacquaio was in the late 90's

Manny was supposed to be the guy to get rid of this loudmouth, black fighter that makes it look easy

when he moved up past 135 in 2008 that's when Manny fans started attaching their names together

As a boxing fan, I never saw what it was that Manny had that would beat Mayweather so I was just waiting on the fight to be made so both parties can shut up for Christ's sake

This thread was made so I could see people inadvertently show that they expect more out of Mayweather because he is the better fighter

He would have fought Rios whether he won or lose because Manny fights people promoted by his " PAMATOR BALB ADRUM" and Arum's stable is very thin at 140-154

he would he have fought? Vargas lol
What am I flipping? I call it how i see it.

IMO im more of a fan of Floyd than his huggers are and yes i do expect more out of him. Because i can see how great he is and how much more he still can be. I've watched Floyd since he turned pro and i remember talking about how he rolls his shoulders back then. So I only want the best.

I could care less if he lost. In fact i hope he retires undefeated especially if one of his last victims is GGG. Can you imagine where his stature would be if he finished his career like that. And IMO I think so highly of Floyd I think he has a damn good chance at winning. So why not finish your career fighting guys like that instead of fibishing in on a lowel vs a Berto type.

          End of thread.....

            that's why its funny

Guerrero is probably his worst opponent but he is no worse than 50/50 with Algieri or Rios...and he is past prime now

the other guys he has fought like Cotto, Mosley, Pac are hall of famers and Canelo and Maidana are far better at welterweight than Rios and Algeiri

He could fight anyone not a middleweight and some will complain anyway

He can fight who he wants he already beat everyone who matters
dudes were jut subconsciously showing that Floyd was superior to Pac....from the millions of Pac fans, deep down under all the false confidence very few believed he would beat Floyd....just like they called for Floyd to fight Nelo and Mister 164....but NEVER considered Pac for those fights....for Pac, those fights were NO WAY...the same cats feel like Floyd is GREAT enough to fight those guys....it is what it is

Berto is neither a tune-up, nor is he coming off the biggest win of life...or maybe he is?

It is whatever the flowmoez such as yourself want it to be, "a farewell fight. Everyone is over how terrible of a fight Berto-Maywesther is. The initial shock is gone, let it settle and be what it will be now.
Dumb... It's called a stay busy/active fight .. You know nothing

I'd rather see him fight Thurman, Khan or Brook but hey...Berto is no rod salka(vs Garcia) or Rios or Algieri(vs Pacquaio)

Berto is a former titleholder and only has 3 losses...it could be a lot worse

Look at guys like Julio Cesar Chavez and other former champions who fought guys in their pro debuts or with less than 15 fights and they got 50+

my point is sure, its not an all time great but Berto is no scrub but anything after a win over Pacquaio is gonna be a let down if its not a middleweight-heavyweight
