  • I'm actually off the whole Triple G vs Cotto/Canelo now... we all know Triple G would smash either one of them especially Cotto...

Make the Ward fight happen at 166-168.. 50/50 split..

Andy Lee or some other C-level isn't cutting it at age 33..wasting his career...

His camp is talking like he's 23 and not 33...
The trouble with managers and promoters is that they are only looking at the money side of things. It's a manager's job to minimize risk and maximize reward. I think the whole 154-168 deal was a mistake but they can't retract it now; but you could take the view that it was promotional masterpiece too. Like they say, there is no such thing as bad publicity.

The fact that he is 33 means he does have to be matched very carefully because they just don't have 24 months to build him back up again - my guess is GGG is fractionally past his prime - I thought he was at a slightly higher level against Rubio, Geale and Macklin than against Murray and Monroe.

Ultimately, it may all be taken outta Gennady's hands. HBO is pumping a ton of money into this guy. His core fan base seems to be a lotta relatively new fight fans. So I think they're gonna be very surprised at the numbers he and Lemieux do. Which are gonna fall short of his fans' expectations. HBO is smart enough to know the Lemieux fight isn't gonna do big numbers. But it is gonna make them put their foot down with GGG and make him come off some of this unwarrented diva **** he's been on lately.

I'd like to see the Ward fight but you saying that about the Canelo fight is crazy. We don't know that Golovkin would smash Canelo. Yours is a ridiculous statement - most fans would love to see that fight - it would be highly anticipated.

I hope he expresses interest in the fight, makes GGG go down to 155 and Gennady makes it a point to kill him in front of his wife and kids.
You obviously don't have a wife or kids. Tone it down or just don't bother. Definition of a keyboard warrior.

Career-wise we know Triple G can still get away with Andy Lee and Lemiuex... and HBO won't make a peep..but my point is then he'll be 34 going on 35... with Cotto/Canelo winner still demanding a catch weight..

Triple G is going to turn from KO sensation to Cherry-Pick-Sensation very soon...

Then he's going to what move up and fight Ward at 35 at 168? Probably still won't happen... as he'll probably be able to take a tune up at 168 also...

Triple G's camp is banking on him landing Canelo.. (Cotto will demand at least 157 catch weight if not more and ask for a much bigger split)..

If Triple G doesn't land Canelo.. he'll pretty much still have no recognizable name..Lemiuex doesn't count.he's been exposed himself..

Triple G KOing Ward changes everything..he becomes a top-3 lb for lb guy if not 1 after Mayweather retires...

I don't think HBO are going overboard with him. You wanna talk about overboard - that is ROC Nation guaranteeing 2 million to Ward. I think Ward might be under more pressure.

                • My guess is Triple G fights either Lemieux or Andy Lee next... and waits out the Cotto/Canelo winner... if he can't land that fight... THEN, what does he do...

I say move up to 168 and fight Ward... rather than stick around and hoping to renegotiate with Canelo/Cotto...

It would be if Canelo beats Cotto convincingly..but you don't think Canelo is going demand a much higher purse split and catch weight also?

Canelo has been the catch weight king...I doubt he fights Triple G at 160...I'd say 157 would be the highest...

The trouble with that scenario is there's a good chance Ward wins - so what then for GGG regards making money? That's a bird in the hand scenario - better to be sure of making 2 million every fight than take a very high risk to make 10 million per fight. One is called ********.
