$3m rights fee from HBO, $1m from the Ward-Golovkin gate (Ward is already drawing $700k in Oakland, Golovkin's supposed to be this big draw with no name opponents, and Ward-Golovkin at Staples Center would have Golovkin bringing a name fighter with him to his burgeoning fanbase), $1m-$2m in event sponsors, and another $2m for the international broadcasting rights (Canada, Mexico, UK, Germany will all broadcast the fight in quality spots). To that, you might even be able to add another $500k-$1m for the miscellanious revenue streams (merch, etc).
You count all the revenue streams (minus all of the payouts to other parties), and you're looking at easily $7m in the pot for everyone to split, maybe more if the fight captures the public's imagination.
$2m to Ward, $2m to Golovkin, each promoter gets $1m on the fight, and then the two fighters split whatever else ends up being on the upside.Comment

Why do you even respond to such immature gossip? Just a couple cheap insults shows alot of anxiety. There are a couple people here who have valid arguments but some guys shouldn't be taken seriously. I have some standards, some people don't and they should talk to their sort.Comment

You make some good points regarding Hopkins/Trinidad/DLH/Middleweight tourney.
I'll give you the Tito argument b/c it is true that Hopkins was not originally supposed to be in the Middleweight tourney. So technically speaking, Trinidad was a Middleweight when they fought.
De La Hoya on the other hand was a clear cherry pick, imo. DLH was not a Middleweight. He nearly had lost his only fight there to Felix Sturm.
Even though Ward and GGG aren't in the same division, it's clear as day there is nobody of worth for GGG to fight.
Cotto is not going to fight GGG at 160. He's already made that clear. Canelo also seems like he's refusing to commit to 160. Both of those guys would rather not face GGG.
So it only makes sense to rise up in weight and take on Andre Ward. Ward wants it after his 2 year layoff. We know he had legal issues so lets stop trying to make it look like Ward just took 2 years off for the hell of it.
If GGG is as great as everyone believes he is then go up to 168 and holla at SOG.
That's what real champions do. I think a catchweight is acceptable as well.Last edited by ИATAS; 07-20-2015, 09:42 PM.Comment

Ward just fought at a catchweight..........against a smaller guy..........in his own backyard. Only difference was that the CW was something that suited him and not the opponent.Comment
