W/O Ward - Golovkin can fight N'Dam in October, sell 10,000 tix, get 1.5mill tv views, make over a million from HBO another million from international sales.

W/O Golovkin - Ward goes back to BET, fights in front of a paper'd house, gets maybe 500,000 tv viewers, and loses his promoter another $2mill.
    Actually NO.

Ward has OPTIONS. There are big money fights to be made @ 168 and 175. The Kovalev fight could be made tomorrow.

What options does the Triple Duck have?

Bum-love-kin's handlers wont let him within the same timezone as the Ole' Man. They're gonna DUCK Hopkins...

Your delusional ranting is the reason I stopped listening to TBV.

This fight is a mismatch. Ggg is not on this level

To that, you might even be able to add another $500k-$1m for the miscellanious revenue streams (merch, etc).

You count all the revenue streams (minus all of the payouts to other parties), and you're looking at easily $7m in the pot for everyone to split, maybe more if the fight captures the public's imagination.

$2m to Ward, $2m to Golovkin, each promoter gets $1m on the fight, and then the two fighters split whatever else ends up being on the upside.
$7 million isn't enough for Bum-love-kin's handlers to feed him to Ward. Not as long as HBO keeps paying for the Triple Duck to knock over TOMATO CAN after TOMATO CAN...

Why do you even respond to such immature gossip? Just a couple cheap insults shows alot of anxiety. There are a couple people here who have valid arguments but some guys shouldn't be taken seriously. I have some standards, some people don't and they should talk to their sort.

I'll give you the Tito argument b/c it is true that Hopkins was not originally supposed to be in the Middleweight tourney. So technically speaking, Trinidad was a Middleweight when they fought.

De La Hoya on the other hand was a clear cherry pick, imo. DLH was not a Middleweight. He nearly had lost his only fight there to Felix Sturm.
How in the world can it be a cherry pick when Oscar is the one that was asking for the fight? On top of that Hopkins took a catch weight that Oscar demanded 157 and Hopkins weighed 156 just to prove a point. No man in boxing at that time would turn down a fight with Oscar. He was the cash cow, only a fool would turn him down. It's what made Hopkins a star.

Even though Ward and GGG aren't in the same division, it's clear as day there is nobody of worth for GGG to fight.

Cotto is not going to fight GGG at 160. He's already made that clear. Canelo also seems like he's refusing to commit to 160. Both of those guys would rather not face GGG.
It doesn't matter what Cotto wants to do, the point is that Cotto IS the lineal champ and Wbc title holder, of course GGG would want it. It's no different than Hopkins wanting Trinidad which you already agreed Hopkins was in the right. Same exact thing the only difference is Trinidad was willing to fight Hopkins whereas Cotto doesn't want to fight Golovkin. Doesn't mean Golovkin shouldnt go after the belt he deserves a shot at (both lineal and WBC which he is mandatory to). Its ****ed up we are in a age where fans make excuses for champions not fighting the best in their division.

So it only makes sense to rise up in weight and take on Andre Ward. Ward wants it after his 2 year layoff. We know he had legal issues so lets stop trying to make it look like Ward just took 2 years off for the hell of it.

If GGG is as great as everyone believes he is then go up to 168 and holla at SOG.

That's what real champions do. I think a catchweight is acceptable as well.
The thing is he doesn't have to move up if he doesn't want to, no one is obligated to move up or down in boxing. Regardless I have a feeling he will fight Ward, just not this year being the position he's currently in.

Ward just fought at a catchweight..........against a smaller guy..........in his own backyard. Only difference was that the CW was something that suited him and not the opponent.
