Looking back further Cotto/Jennings had 9,903 sold with a gate of $969,424.

Why would K2 hold MSG for Cotto/Alvarez?
Just curious...the Garden lets you rent out the entire main arena and charges proportionate to the space used? Really?

W/O Ward - Golovkin can fight N'Dam in October, sell 10,000 tix, get 1.5mill tv views, make over a million from HBO another million from international sales.

W/O Golovkin - Ward goes back to BET, fights in front of a paper'd house, gets maybe 500,000 tv viewers, and loses his promoter another $2mill.

      Nope

Ward has a Kovalev fight waiting for him if he wants to move up.

Who can GGG fight? did you really say N'Dam? N'Dam doesnt want to fight GGG. Are you serious? Thats not a viable or credible option for him.

Ward w/o GGG: Light Heavyweight championship fight against Kovalev, maybe 3 pillion purse, good ratings (Kovalev does great numbers) and a legacy fight with an achievement

      GGG w/o Ward: N'Dam.. Johnson..Chavez?

You wernt serious saying Ward needs GGG. Weak post.

What big fight is out there for GGG besides Ward?

Edit: Oh how could I forget. The future big fight against Hopkins would count as an option I guess.. LOL.

      • If Ward wants to fight GGG so bad, then he should fight him at 160.

After all, he was willing to fight Mayweather at 160.

If GGG wants to fight Ward so bad, he should move up to 168. After all, he was willing to move up to 168 for Froch. And Chavez Jr.

If he wants the Middleweight championship so bad he should move down to 155 to fight Cotto. After all, he was willing to move down to 154 for Mayweather.

Big talk, come back better next time. Ward's not fighting Kovalev next, more like Periban at 170/168. Ward was quoted recently saying that if he were to go up to LHW he'd do it properly and have a couple fights there first before Kovalev.

$3m rights fee from HBO, $1m from the Ward-Golovkin gate (Ward is already drawing $700k in Oakland, Golovkin's supposed to be this big draw with no name opponents, and Ward-Golovkin at Staples Center would have Golovkin bringing a name fighter with him to his burgeoning fanbase), $1m-$2m in event sponsors, and another $2m for the international broadcasting rights (Canada, Mexico, UK, Germany will all broadcast the fight in quality spots). To that, you might even be able to add another $500k-$1m for the miscellanious revenue streams (merch, etc).

You count all the revenue streams (minus all of the payouts to other parties), and you're looking at easily $7m in the pot for everyone to split, maybe more if the fight captures the public's imagination.

$2m to Ward, $2m to Golovkin, each promoter gets $1m on the fight, and then the two fighters split whatever else ends up being on the upside.

                  Why does Ward "need" Golovkin?

He earns more money than him and has a much better resume

Are you that daft? Who said it would be next? The point is regardless of who Ward fights next, at 168, 170 or 175, a big fight against Kovalev is an option for him if he decides to move up.

Again, what big fight is out there for GGG besides Ward?

                    Not Canelo
                    Not Cotto
                    Not Lee
                    Not Lemieux

                    Who?

Im talking about a BIG fight(financially, legacy wise) Dont bring up freaking N'Dam. Your reasoning using TV ratings and promoters losing money was bogus and irrelevant.

Going up to light heavyweight for the right fight -- not to campaign up there, but for the right fight -- is an option.

Yea but to go up to 175 then come back down in weight is pretty hard. Ward is going to have to move up soon anyway.
