Ward's situation is really funny,when Ggg offers 164 they said ward will be drained because he fought at 173 last time and doesnt weight 168 anymore.But when Kovalev said come up to 175 ward says he doesnt feel like LHW

I think Ward gets knocked out by either Crusher or GGG. Ward is a very good fighter who has never lost and has some very good wins. No fighter can say they would beat Ward with certainty until they actually do it in the ring. Ward might beat Crusher or GGG. I don't think he would but I am a fan of GGG and Kovalev and not a Ward fan so that could be influencing my pick. Nobody knows for sure how these fights would go and that's part of what makes these fights so interesting.

The worst part is he is saying that Ward is the high work rate guy lol...Ward is a pure hit and clinch guy who needs to have the refs to not deduct points to win...If Ward ever runs into a ref that doesn't permit holding and starts warning immediately..he'd be in huge trouble..

I have to admit that I'm a fan of both Ward and Sergey. With that said its a tough one for me.

I have to admit that I am and always will be a huge Hagler fan so I am slightly biased when it comes to him. Okay with that said and I have to be honest. John Mugabi fought no one before Hagler and he lost to anything resembling a decent fighter after he lost to Hagler. And was beaten badly in the process.

As far as Sergey is concerned he has already proved that not only can he compete with world class elite fighters he has also proven that he can beat them rather convincingly as well. So once again there is absolutely no comparison between the two.

I like Sergey , I really do . I find him to be very entertaining and fun to watch as well as formidable in the ring . That aside he's not invincible as evidenced by him getting hurt by Pascal at times in that fight , not to mention he's previously been KOd with head gear on . Will Ward beat him = not sure . But it will be a great fight !

Well you're thinking wrong, there is nothing that scares me about Ward. Not saying he's a bad fighters.

Your name is "high-tech" you're always talking about skills and etc... and you think Kovalev will beat the breaks off of Ward who is one of the most skilled, technical fighters today? How's that? Aren't you a little biased with post-soviet fighters?

Outside of the boring "He punches bigger and he is bigger" argument I didn't read one single normal reason why Kovalev would beat Ward.
More ring IQ? Ward
More speed? Ward
Better defense? Ward
More well rounded? Ward
Stamina? Same
Chin? Unknown

So I can't see the reasons why would be Kovalev the favourite in this fight.

I'm exaggerating like every boxing fan does, so don't take it too personal.
Even if you want to give the edge to Ward in all those categories, it wouldn't be by a landslide.
It's not like Kovalev has no ring IQ. He's not a slow turtle and Ward is not even that fast like people make him out to be. Even if Ward does end up being so much faster than Kov, Kov has excellent timing. If Kovalev has a bad chin, guess what Ward won't crack it. Doesn't Ward fracture his hand after every fight? Even against Smith he had a possible fracture (I'll post the vid when I have time). Kovalev on the other hand has the power to crack Wards chin.

Pretty confident Kov will be the favorite, when this fight gets made. But at the end of the day, what matters is that it will happen.

Ward needs to become lb for lb top guy to raise his marketability.. Mayweather is not going to fight more than two more times... so Ward beating Kov would probably make him pound for pound but he's so gun shy...

Ward is scared... dude has an excuse everytime they bring up Kovalev to him..Ward is scared to fight a guy who will be too big to clinch all day...Kovaev will lean on Ward in the Clinches and fk him up...

I don't care how old Hopkins is...you don't give Hopkins a brutal beating like that if you don't have at least some boxing skill...
