He's got a deal with the ROC. No need for Haymon to be involved. There's really not that much in the way of making this fight happen in the near future. If they can't come to terms, let a purse bid decide it. ROC's shown that they're willing to throw a little money out there to get a fight made.

Is Ward going to work his way into mandatory position for one of Kovalev's titles? Because that would be the only possible way this would go to a purse bid.
Why wouldn't he? Is that not a possibility or are you only looking for outs for this fight? I'm wondering here what it is you got against ward to be exact.

if he moves up, hed be ranked rather high, I'd assume. Win a fight or two and there you have it or what are you gonna reply with in return so we can give up on this potential fight

Do u look as dumb as u sound ? Ward moved up to 172 as a preliminary test to gauge his body BECAUSE he has his sights on Kov . Now your on here talking reckless as if Ward is at 172 to hide from Kov ????? Is there any bottom to your ******ity ? If your looking for a coward that desperately , GGG is standing there right before your eyes !

There is absolutely no comparison between John Mugabi and Kovalev. First off Sergey is way more then just a pure puncher, simply because he also happens to have pretty good boxing skills. And secondly every time the Beast stepped up he got beaten and rather easily to boot. I honestly believe it was because Hagler broke his a$$. Where as Sergey has stepped up and won and looked good while doing so.

Is this a joke? If not it still made me LOL as well as LMAO.

After reading this thread I almost get the impression that some Kovalev fans hope the Ward fight doesn't happen........

If my memory serves me correctly , Mugabe was undefeated until he faced Hagler . Same scenario when Calzaghe broke Kessler spirit he was never the same after that , same with Ali/Foreman as the list goes on and on. Big punchers always look invincible until a boxer-technician or a high rate attrition guy like Calzaghe comes along and breaks their will . Kov is no different !

I have to admit that I am and always will be a huge Hagler fan so I am slightly biased when it comes to him. Okay with that said and I have to be honest. John Mugabi fought no one before Hagler and he lost to anything resembling a decent fighter after he lost to Hagler. And was beaten badly in the process.

As far as Sergey is concerned he has already proved that not only can he compete with world class elite fighters he has also proven that he can beat them rather convincingly as well. So once again there is absolutely no comparison between the two.

The worst part is he is saying that Ward is the high work rate guy lol...Ward is a pure hit and clinch guy who needs to have the refs to not deduct points to win...If Ward ever runs into a ref that doesn't permit holding and starts warning immediately..he'd be in huge trouble..

I think Ward gets knocked out by either Crusher or GGG. Ward is a very good fighter who has never lost and has some very good wins. No fighter can say they would beat Ward with certainty until they actually do it in the ring. Ward might beat Crusher or GGG. I don't think he would but I am a fan of GGG and Kovalev and not a Ward fan so that could be influencing my pick. Nobody knows for sure how these fights would go and that's part of what makes these fights so interesting.
